I am guilty of focusing on drawing only one of my characters and not showing enough love for my others. This is my character Blanco, whose real name is Julian Picolit. Yeah. White wine. He's a mod from 1969 who had created his own time machine in a wristwatch and goes on adventures through time with a woman from 1999 that I draw too often. This is his disguise, of course. His first ever design was created for a contest before I came up with any name or story so it didn't really reflect either of those things later on. This new design incorporates a lot more white and pale gold. I gave him a new outfit that is reminiscent of the faux-Regency era outfits that Adam Ant wore in the 80s because he's a bit of a dandy. Also some very obvious design influence drawn from Harlequin and playing card suits. I'm unsure if even this design will stick around but I'm getting somewhere.



Edit: I think I'll go back to making his mask silver and gold. It's supposed to be a half mask here like the phantom of the opera but I chose a bad angle to show the new design and it looks like he's wearing a Batman mask. I don't think this dark grey really conveys the fact that half of his face is robotic.

Yesterday the first episode of "Trigun Stampede" aired. It is a reboot/retelling of the original Trigun anime/manga that started in the 90s. Trigun is one of my favourite series ever so I was very excited for this to begin, but I was trying to keep my expectations low because:

1. The new show is animated fully in 3d instead of 2d, which has the reputation of being of lesser quality than 2d animation if it's not something super high budget like a Pixar movie.
2. It seems like it is neither a full adaptation of the original manga or anime (which have different storylines due to the first anime being made while the manga was still going)
3. The main characters got stripped of their iconic designs and got new ones, as well as one of the characters being seemingly removed entirely (see later)

However, I really like this new show just from the first episode despite these points. Although I am disappointed in the changes to character design, especially Vash (sacrilege!) and the removal of the character Milly thus far, I was really happy to just see my man Vash on screen again and the animation was beautiful. The animation studio was even able to capture Vash's goofy nature in 3d. You can watch a clip of the episode in this video:



After watching the first episode, I am left with questions and thoughts about Trigun Stampede and what's to come in this new show:

1. Will Milly Thompson be in this retelling of Trigun? I am afraid that she was replaced by that middle aged man that accompanies Meryl Stryfe, and this could mean the show might lack in the humour she brought to the original story. She really might not be in this new show because she's nowhere in the advertising while Wolfwood is and he wasn't in the first episode.
2. Will anything in the manga that was left unadapted in the original anime become adapted in this new show?
3. Are they going for a more romantic relationship between Vash and Meryl in this reboot? She was kind of flirting with him. I mean, that's a win for me!
4. Will the scene with Meryl (and Milly, but she's not here) falling over upon seeing shirtless Vash be in this new show? Asking for a friend, of course.

I am very impressed with Trigun Stampede so far and I am excited for what's to come. I generally only watch old anime and this reboot is looking really great. I think this show will be airing a new episode weekly.

The original Trigun anime and manga were extremely popular in the west in the 90s and early 00s (you literally could not go to a convention without seeing at least 5 Vash cosplayers) and I hope the new show can capture a big Trigun fanbase once again. I just hope those new fans could watch/read the old stuff too, though!

sorry about my inactivity everyone, i hope you are all doing well. unfortunately i haven't made many things this year because my lack of motivation has been particularly bad this year but here are 2 things

a cosplay of timekeeper cookie from cookie run for halloween! i didnt make the coat tails on her outfit because i didn't have any black fabric that was already in my house that i liked. my hairstyle doesnt really go well with this outfit so if i ever plan on wearing this cosplay to a convention i'll probably buy a blonde wig and sew some coat tails to the vest so it is actually complete. maybe i'll even make her giant scissors if i am ambitious enough... but i'm not sure if i have enough space on any desk or table in my house to make it!

i have not yet actually made any serious artwork (digital or traditional) this year despite getting new art supplies for christmas and it being almost march, but what i have done is i made a new drawception profile cover, made up of fourteen 600x500 panels. i finished it a few days ago so its not like super new but whatever



the character is "vash the stampede" from an older anime/manga called trigun. he is over 130 or 150 years old depending on if you watch the anime or read the manga but in both he eternally looks like hes in his mid 20s. he lives on a craphole planet called gunsmoke and he has a huge bounty over his head for (unwillingly) destroying towns and cities which has given him nicknames such as "the humanoid typhoon" and "60 billion double dollar man". despite this seemingly scary description he is usually a very wacky guy but with a lot of mental and physical scars from the past. i recommend watching or reading trigun, especially if you like space westerns and/or westerns in general. it is very good

ok so i log onto oldcp and there are more users than usual and it is bc lil khal k was holding a rap concert at the lighthouse and after a few mins he suddenly disappeared.



i do not know if it was bc he actually logged off or if he went to another room but people were saying he went to dorval so i went to dorval. keep in mind i dont know crap about crimezone so i dont know if this was supposed to happen ok. i go to dorval with a ton of other people that were at the lil khal k concert and at dorval there is a very huge very fat penguin named gatekeeper. i told him that he was fat and should lose weight and he KILLED ME.
