I am Rouge ! Ty for asking. If you still don't know me, then sure I'll tell you some interesting facts.
1. At the age of 8, I once thought that 10c = €1
On Daffodil Day I was at the market with my family and my mum bought me a crepe from one of the stalls. I had 10c in my pocket so I thought I'd do something nice for her. I went up to one of the stalls selling daffodils and the shopkeeper told me that 10 Daffodils are €1 and I was absolutely delighted to give him my 10c. He actually gave me the daffodils said nothing about it so when I gave them to my mum she was wondering who gave me a euro
2. I go to university in Ireland and I'm currently studying History, Politics and International Relations
I really love my course! Studying politics has especially encouraged us students to get involved. Since then, I've become involved in a lot of societies and I've achieved positions in my first year before and during the pandemic such as Class Rep, PRO/Social Media Officer of the Politics Society (I won the elections to achieve that role 2 weeks ago and I'm really excited for it), Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences College Officer, and I'm currently running for Residence Assistant so I can live on campus again next year. If I achieve this role, I basically get €4,000 off my fees LOL (pray for rouge) but I would also love to learn about the experience.
3. I got kicked out of ballet class when I was 5
THIS IS A TWO-SIDED STORY. My teacher was so strict and she literally wanted us kids to be perfect. I mean okay, fair enough. However, I was just not interested in ballet at all unlike my 2 older sisters who were already en-pointes at that stage. Ballet just really wasn't for me so during class I used to mess around a lot and make jokes about ballet and I even made jokes about boys doing ballet which was so mean but I was 5 bro. I also kept running around the room instead of doing ballet exercises so that didn't really help either. DUE TO THIS, I WAS KICKED OUT. And this is where my next fact comes in.
4. I LOVE SPORT (especially tennis)
If anything, sport has been a part of my life and it still is. Who needs tutus when you can run around and get awarded for it. I had tennis on the go along with ballet. After quitting ballet, I stuck with tennis. I am very passionate about it and I started competition when I was around 7. Since then I was the team captain of both my club and school team. We made it to the All-Ireland final (lost in the final but sure look) and we also won the senior cup and really, moments like those will be remembered for the rest of my life. BUT tennis isn't the only sport I play ! During my years in secondary school I also played basketball, soccer, badminton, hockey and cricket (but stuck with tennis, basketball and cricket for my senior years). My favourite sport to watch is figure skating.
5. I almost got arrested during quarantine
Before I left for Switzerland to see my family (my Dad works there incase you're confused), I stayed with my friend for 2 days before leaving the country. We're all culchies so sometimes we meet up with our neighbours then we go to the field nearby and we play soccer there or we just talk in general for the craic. After playing a bit of soccer, someone called the Gardaí (Police) on us and 2 police cars showed up. They came out and asked how our social distancing was going and we were like 'oh yeah sure you know yourself ahaha (nervously).' (One of my friends knew one of the policemen because it was his uncle so we weren't in too much trouble luckily). They told us to leave immediately or we'd get arrested and we were kinda scared so we left and went home LOL
SORRY THAT WAS SO LONG OMG - but I hope you enjoyed reading these little facts about me
