The Nottingham cheese riot, or The Great Cheese Riot, started on the 2nd of October in 1766 at the city's Goose Fair. The riot came at a time of food shortages and rising prices in England. Violence broke out when local citizens intervened to prevent Lincolnshire merchants taking away Nottinghamshire cheeses they had bought at the fair. A warehouse, shops and a cargo boat were looted; and hundreds of cheese wheels were rolled through the streets. The army was deployed when the mayor, after being hit by a rolling wheel of cheese, was unable to restore control. One man, a farmer, William Eggleston, whom was selling cheese and was assumed to be part of the riot despite being completely neutral, was killed and others wounded as soldiers opened fire on the crowds. Several people were detained and brought before magistrates in a private residence, but were freed after the house was attacked by the mob, who smashed windows to gain access. The unrest continued overnight, and for some days after, until peace was finally restored by the British military.

In anticipation of the removal of the remaining Cherokee east of the Mississippi River, Sam Houston, a government liaison for the Cherokee, made an unsuccessful bid to supply rations to the Native Americans during their journey. When Houston returned to Washington in 1832, Congressman William Stanberry alleged that Houston had placed a fraudulent bid in 1830 in collusion with the Jackson administration. On April 13, 1832, after Stanberry refused to answer Houston's letters regarding the incident, Houston beat Stanberry with a cane. After the beating, the House of Representatives brought Houston to trial. By a vote of 106 to 89, the House convicted Houston, and Speaker of the House Andrew Stevenson formally reprimanded Houston. A federal court also required Houston to pay $500 in damages.

Christopher Lee, famous for being Count Dracula, Count Dooku, and Saruman had many interesting qualities to him.
- Knighted by the queen
- Almost married Swedish royalty
- Descendant of Charlemagne, which he named his heavy metal band after.
- Hunted down Germans after WWII
- Climbed Mount Vesuvius, which erupted 3 days after
- Had fluency in at least 5 languages

And to think he did all that in just 93 years
