Just because some Princes and Princesses don't have admin powers on the forums etc, they still may command any actual trained admins to do what they want.

Hello! PenguinDSC here, and this is my tutorial for the dsghq.

The Forums

The Dsghq forums (Or the Damen Spike Games Head Quarters) is a great place to post, have fun, make moods, channels, and just share with your friends. I will be showing you almost everything there is to know about the forums.

PM'S (Privating Messaging)

PM's are are a way to private message a person. Example, if you want to send an application, a message to your friends, or just to see whats up, you can send one to that person.
Q: How do I access Pm's? In the top right corner you will see on envelope. It will look like this: To send one, click New message, and you will need to type in a recipient, (name of valid person on forums) A title, and the message.

Notifications

Notifications are things you get when you make a discussion, one of your posts is liked, when your post is disliked, a reply on a mood, etc. It will be on the left of the envelope, and will be a light bulb.If you want to delete a notification, click delete on the one you want deleted, or simply to delete all notifications, delete all.

Profile

Your profile is the place where people see what is about you. It shows the number of post you have, your badges, your reputation, and everything there is to know about you. It isn't required to use real information if it is personal, but it is fun to do it. By the top left, when you click on your profile (which is left of notifications), will show a button that says "Edit My Profile" There, you will be able to Change your profile picture, change your name, store products, signature, title, font, etc. To get a picture, you find a url online, which is valid, and you paste it on your profile picture.

Command Bar

The command bar is above a post you make in pms, discussions, and replies. It looks like this: I will be showing you them in order. The first is B, or bold. First of all, to use ANY command, you must do this: It is not the same format, but will be the one you have chosen. The bolded, or affected words, go in the middle of the two parenthesis. This is Bold. The next on the list is italics. Italics is used in grammar to show emphasis sometimes, and will be slanted. This is italics. After italics is underline. Underline is to show meaning. Example: But I don't want to go with you. Another example is a title, because titles are important. After underline is strike through. Not needed much, because if you wanna cross something out to show you've crossed it out, go right ahead. Example: Event at 7:30 PM Event at 8:30 PM now. After are the commands we mostly use in documents. Left, and right put your text to either side of the page, and center centers it. Image is next. Image is used in a different format, and you will see that when you click on the image on the command bar. So, to use image, you need to find a valid url, not a website, and put the url in the middle. A Url is like a web adress, but it is a picture that you made or found on the internet this time. Video is after. To use video, you put a youtube video url in the middle and there you go. Link is next, and it is to show a link. Usually links show by themselves, but you can do it if you want. An example of how to use it is this: This is for the forums sharing links and after the equal sign, you put /view/discussion_number. Quote is next, and quote is used to quote what someone else said. Usually it is on a post, but if you wanna copy one from one post to somewhere else, then that is what it is used for. Code is after, it isn't important really. Size is next, and it is just for fun. After the equal sign, put a number 1-2 to make it smaller than usual, 3 is the normal size of text, and 4-7 to make it bigger. 7 is highest. Color is a really fun one, and after the equal sign, you put a hex or a color. An example of a hex is FFOOOO which is red, and an example of a color is blue or light blue. List is second to last, and it isn't used often, but it is complicated. It will show entry one, and that is where you put your first point, and then you push enter, and type this: [*] and you will be able to make more points as long as you don't end the list. The last is Font. It is quite new, but you can use any font from microsoft word, an example is segoe script. If you have more than one word in font, then you have to put a space between the words. It is a great combination mixed with color.

Creating a Discussion

It is pretty simple actually, just don't make spam posts. All you have to do is click the create discussion button on the main page, type in a discussion name, no longer than 30 letters is allowed, but you can buy extended titles at the shop for 1000 gold. Tags are optional, but just for fun. Then select the category relevant to your discussion. Finally, you write your discussion, and click post discussion.

Making a Reply

A reply is pretty much a reply to a post in a discussion or pm. An example:



You can create any reply, but never cuss, or break the rules.

Order, Badges, and Statistics

The Order is where it shows all the Royals, Wise, Knights, and Lords. It tells about the penguin watch, the crime office (no longer available), and the sentencing process.

The badges page is where it shows all the badges and how to get them, some are secret, and many are unobtainable, mean you cannot get it.

The rulers page is basic actually, it just shows all the staff, their reputation, and profiles. It is also known as the staff page.

Royals

A royal rank is unobtainable to apply for. You must be chosen by Emperor Damen to be a part of the royal family. The royal family consists of a Prince (Archie) and (Tennis), an Empress (Chelsey), 3 Princesses (Raindrop[married to Archie], Gugu, Iceesofie, and Dancebear[married to Tennis]), and one Emperor (Damen).

The DSGHQ Bank

The bank is basically where you store your gold. If you want, you can get a loan, but only certain ranks can, and only a limited amount. Pretty much that a Knight, Mod, admin etc can borrow. It depends what rank you have. You do not have interest, you gold just stays in the bank. Cheep used to be the lady of the bank, but we are currently looking for a new one. Tennis is the Lord of the bank until further notice.

Ranks Ah yes ranks. Ranks are fun to have, but you must maintain trust.


Ranks:

Reviewal - Reviewal is if you are being inspected from being demoted from moderator pretty much.

Banned - Banned is never good, you have to make a new account until you are unbanned. A severe case is being ipbanned, which you are banned on your ip, so you cannot make any new accounts.

Suspended - Suspended is a better version of banned, because you are banned for only a limited amount of time.

Guest - Guest is when you are below rookie, but not banned. It doesn't really mean anything, just means you have the lowest rank.

Rookie - Rookie is the rank you start with.

Recovery - Recovery, I am not sure what it means, but it is not in use often.

Member - To earn member for rookie, the requirements are 50 posts and 30 Reputation, and pm a moderator if you have the requirements.

Master - Master is a rank that includes a Masters section, and it shows that you are trusted. The requirements are 500 posts and 300 Reputation.

News Reporter - A News Reporter makes news reports about what is going on in the dsghq.

Wise - The wise are the people who are very smart and the give wisdom to all. The Wise are picked by Jacobg27, the Grand Most wise, or Damen. Able to access the masters section.

Healer - Sadly there are no healers right now. They may come back later, but the only person that can heal is Damen himself, and he does not give it out if you are killed.

Moderator - Moderator is a rank part of the staff that moderate the forums, allowed to ban, suspend whoever they want if they have proof, and can make members, news reporters, Master (need permission from Damen) etc. Have access to Staff and Masters Sections.

Princess - Princess is a royal rank, which is unobtainable. The have moderator powers, and are a part of the royal family. They have access to Masters and Staff section, and are part of the staff. Current Princesses are Chelsey, Gugu, Dancebear, and Raindrop.

Prince - The Prince is the rank below Emperor, is an administrator and has access to the staff and masters section. The current princes are Archie Stag, married to Raindrop, and Tennis Stag married to Dancebear,

Empress - The Empress is an Administrator who has powers to do what she wants, with permission of course. The current one is Iceesofie. Queen has Staff section and Masters section access.

Administrator - Administrator is a rank for the highly trusted by the emperor himself, and they have powers to make moderators, and any other rank with permission from Damen. They help with many things, in case Damen cannot. Have access to Staff and Masters Section.

Wizard - Wizard is nothing, and cannot be obtained. It has nothing special whatsoever.

Guide to Moderator and Administrator for Oldcp and Forums

I will give you a guide to becoming moderator/administrator, even though it is not sure that you will become one. Follow this, and be patient, and you can achieve your goals.

Guide to Moderator

The First thing you need to know is that you will need patience. I will list things that are important for oldcp -


Patience - Patience is very important, because you need to wait if you are ever going to get Moderator. if you ask constantly, the staff will not think of you as patient.
A Kind attitude towards EVERYONE
Being active - minimum of around 1 hours and an hour to a half a day which you can catch up for later in the week.
Being trusted, you cannot obtain moderator without trust, it is the most important because no matter how greatly you follow the other steps, you will need to obtain trust first.
Being helpful
Showing you have what it takes - Proves to the staff that you are worthy.
Not having a busy schedule - It is fine if you are busy, but if you are out every second of the day, you are not right for the job.
Experience - You need experience to show that you have been here for a while, and that you know things. Usually, it may be a minimum of 4-5 months, sometimes shorter or longer.


I will now guide you to becoming Moderator on forums.


Patience - Patience is the key to everything.
Having Master rank - To show you are already trusted, you need the requirements of Master. You may become moderator if you are a member, and you have been a master before, but that is if you were highly trusted.
Respect to all, especially staff - To gain everyone's trust, especially staff's, yo need to show that you are worthy by being kind, respectful, and helpful to all.
Trust - Trust is required in becoming moderator, you need it because if you didnt have trust, then no one would trust you that yo would not do things badly.
Post often - You should post often and make good posts to show that you are active, and try your best to help others and have fun.


Those are the main things I would like to tell you, on to Guide to Administrators for Oldcp and Forums.


Even more patience - You need to wait even longer when striving for administrator, because it a a long process.
You need to already be a moderator, and long time period - Doing this shows that you are trusted more than many many many people. By doing this, you show that you can be active for a long time period.
Doing your job as moderator - you need to do your job as mod if you want administrator, meaning do NOT slack off, and just hang out. If you are very active, and you have been on a lot, and there are many moderators on, then it is okay, you just need to work hard.
Respecting all - You need to respect everyone EVEN if you ARE a moderator. If someone is being disrespectful about you and cussing behind your back, and someone tells you, you have the right to ban them, warn them, kick them, etc.
Knowledge - You need knowledge of commands and what to do in situations to show that you can handle a tough job.
Wisdom - you need to know what to do at the right time and not abuse your powers, because you most always need permission to do something big, and you will need to get used to that.

Moods

In Moods, you just say whats p, and you can use the command bar, but not in replies to moods. To make one, click Create Mood on the main page, or on your profile, and say what you want, as long as it is not harmful to anyone or anything.

Memes and Photo Albums


Memes - Memes are easy, just click create meme first. Then scroll down when you get to www.damenspike.com and find Meme Creator. After that, click Make a meme, and it will redirect you to http://www.damenspike.com/meme/#game where you can create a custom meme, or a meme background already shown.

Photo Albums - Photo Albums are what you make to show pictures. It is hard at first, but you will get the hang of it. First, click create Album on the front page. Then, Make the album name, description, and type in the Captcha phrase, and press submit. After that, click on your album, and click edit pictures. Finally, click the plus sign, and put in urls of pictures. You can have as many as you want, but don't do too many. After you have put in the images, click save and you are done.

Channels

Channels are cool things where you help people, or tell about something. An example might be #Minecraft where someone could put facts and pictures about minecraft. To make one, click create channel first. Then type in the channel name, description, the background image, and the photo. Lastly, make the content, and you are done.

DSGHQ Store

The dsghq store is where you buy addonns which you can edit in your profile. To get gold, create a discussion (you need member to do this), buy gold, earn levels, etc. Buying gold is quick, and you need a paypal account. Doing this, you donate to the dsghq and get gold!

Calendar

The calendar is available to be chang by staff, and shows the important events of the year. It changes as you go, so watch out for seasonal events on the calendar.

Search

The Search is where you search for a discussion, a certain word or phrase, or a person on the forums.

Forums Feed

The forums feed is where important messages are shown, like new promotions, messages, pins, and promoted discussions, etc.

Sections of the forums

Here are the correct Reasons to use each section, some require a rank.

Announcements - Only used by staff, for important reasons. Examples are event results, important discussions, etc.

The Lounge- The Lounge is used for mostly anything, and can be used for most discussions.

News - Available by Staff, and News Reporters, this is where news is posted.

Shows - if you have a new show, or story, then you can post it here.

Applications - Here is where you put your application for Master (Member needed), Moderator (Master needed), and Administrator (Moderator Needed), or any rank you want.

Reports - Here is where you report to Moderators and Staff about bad things, sometimes it is best to pm a staff member, usually a mod.

Bugs - This is where you post bugs on from the forums or oldcp.

Help and Support - Here is where you can put a helpful or Supportive discussion.

Feedback - this is where you make a discussion so people can make feedback on it.

Cool Stuff - Here you can post things cool that happened recently.

Inventions - This is where you post something you have made, and it can be anything really.

Suggestions - This is where ou post suggestions for the Forums or Oldcp.

Forums Games - This is where you make a game on the forums for people to play. Gold is sometimes involved.

Arts - This is where you showing your beautiful art and drawings.

Wisdom - This is wherer you post wise things, like quotes.

Entertainment - You can post things here that you think people will be entertained by,

Club Penguin - Here is where you can talk about club penguin, and anything about it.

Snaildom - Here is where you can talk about events and anything on snaildom.

Minecraft - Here is where you can talk about Minecraft.

Prava Stickman - An old game Damen made, it is not posted in often, but you can post about it here.

Crimezone - Crimezone is where you can talk about theories on certain cases.

Debates - You can debate about certain things here.

Masters - You can post almost anything here, guides, anything, and you need to be a rank that allows you into this section.

Staff - This is where you can talk about important matters, you need to be a Moderator, Administrator, or part of the staff to use this.

Banned - You can talk about why you were banned, or banning matters of others.

Player of the day and Birthdays

The Player of the day is chosen randomly, it is just a fun thing that happens around here.

Birthdays - The Birthdays are shown under the Player of the day and it tells who has a birthday on that certain day.

Xat Chat Box

When you login to OldCP, the Xat chat will appear underneath OldCP. You can go to it outside of OldCP with http://xat.com/dsghq . Say "register" to be able to register for xat and get member on the chat.


Wiki

The wiki is for members of the forums with at least 500 reputation, and you can talk about yourself, or an event, or even someone else. It shows the history of the dsghq, and it is fun reading about others.

Houses

The Houses are fun, and they show where you are. Many are teams in moderator competitions, and there is a royal house only for The Spike Family.

I have now covered the forums, now on to Oldcp.

Oldcp History

Oldcp was made in by Damen in 2012, and we have have many memories from then. We have have moderator competitions, themes, and many more things to have fun with. The wiki covers a lot of history and people, you can check there for more.

Moderator Competitions

Moderator competitions are competitions to see who will be the next moderator. they do not happen often, mostly of the time it is one per dsghq season. There is more about it in the wiki, and you have to undergo a series of tasks with your team. Many will be eliminated, and there will only be finalists after a couple of days, and then one will be picked for the rank of moderator.

Basic Commands

There are many basic commands, and I will list a few. I will tell commands for everyone, and ones for staff.

Regular Users (Anyone) -



/users - Shows how many users are online
/activity - Shows how many users are online and shows some of the rooms. If oldcp is too crowded, then it will not show all rooms of use.
/newcp - You can use this for any body part; Head, Face, Body, hand, neck, and feet. You can also use double head items. An example of use is /newcp head 1135, which 1135 is the id. You can look up ids online.
/save - this command is u.sed to save outfits. It is used like this: /save outfit_Name Password (password is optional)
/outfit - it is the version of save that you use to put on an outit. Sometimes they requires passwords, but many do not. The command is /outfit Outfit_Name Password (the password is not needed unless it is required)
/addall - Gives items from club penguin that are old, doesn't contain all items.
/jr - /jr is a well known command to get to place quicker. Some do not need the /jr, examples are /office and /thrones.
/mods - Shows the staff thats online.
/room - Shows how many people are in the room.
Roomid - Shows the id of the room your are in.
/Id - Shows only your id.
/rank Name_Of_Person - Can show the rank of anyone. 3 is Mod and 4 is Admin.
/js Squad_Name Password - Join a squad on snowball server!
/cs Squad_name Password - Create a squad on Snowball server!


Moderators and Administrators


/summon Nume_Of_User - Summons the user you typed in to your oom
/sendto Name_of_user Room_id - Sends the indicated person to the room id you sent them to.
/ban Name_of_user - Bans user on that account.
/ipban Name_of_user - bans the user's ip so they can't create a new account on that ip.
/warn Name_of_user - Warns a user.
/whisper Name_of_user Message - Whisper a message to a user without anyone else seeing.
/kick Name_of_user - this kicks the user from the site.
/goto Name_of_user - You can go to a user if they are online.
/Arrest Name_of_user - Arrest a user for spamming continuously or other reasons not needing a ban.
[/Release Name_of_user - Release a user from jail.
/Jail - This is where prisoners are kept, staff and knights are able to access this./list]

Administrators


/Global Message - Makes a message available for the whole island to see.
/Groom Message - Makes a message for the room to see.
/knight Name_of_User - Make a person knight.
/gt Name_Of_user Title - Gives a title to someone.
/makemod Name_of_user - Makes a user mod. (not sure if this is the right command, same with make admin)
/makeadmin Name_of_user - Makes a user an administrator. (not sure if right)

These are just some basic commands, not all.

Radio

The radio is where the dsghq music is put on. When turned on, you have to go on the forums, refresh oldcp, or go to http://www.damenspike.com/radio

Swfcrate.com

Swfcrate.com, or swfcrate is where we submit our swfs for new /jr rooms. You can customize your own, or find one online.

Customizing your igloo

To customize your igloo, click on the ruler thing at the bottom.

Then, find the items you like, and place them in. Sometimes there are glitches, but don't worry, you can get through it eventually. There are many old items, but only limited, so good luck!

Changing Snowballs

Changing snowballs is easy. First, you hover your mouse over the question mark. It should say, edit account. Click on Change Snowball, and pick one.

Snowball Server

The snowball sever is Whiteout. Whiteout is where you can throw snowballs at each other and kill for grenades. It is a fun game that last five minutes, and don't worry, it doesn't harm anyone.

Help with lag

To help with lag, I suggest closing some tabs that you have, or turn your quality down be typing + or -

Private Messaging

To private message someone, you need to add them as a buddy. Once they accept your request, you will see their name when you click on the Lock icon in the top right hand corner of the screen. Click on the name of the user you want to talk to, and the messaging system will open.

I didn't include everything about oldcp, you can ask questions below if needed.

Snaildom

Snaildom is a game that Damen made in 2014, and is still up today. You can choose from a selection of at least 15 shells, and Damen updates the store every now and then. Here is my snaildom guide. To get gold, you have to play games, like connect 4, Archery, etc. You can buy furniture and customize your shell the way you want. To forge things, you need to get gold, silver, and iron at the black mine. You need a certain amount to make items, and overall, snaildom is a fun game with friendly staff. Snaildom has been discontinued, but it still has a great history. You can find snaildoms history in the wiki.

SnailsChat

SnailsChat is an old game that Damen made in 2013, it has been remade and is now open. You can buy furniture, find items, play games, and buy powers.

Recently there has been a lot of drama regarding the Emperor's Guards. This is a reminder that you are expected to be respectful to everyone, including, and in this case especially, the Emperor's Guards. If you are disrespectful there is a high possibility they will take action against you and there will be drama (eww).

If you see an Emperor's Guard being rude, report it, do not retaliate. Two wrongs don't make a right.

If you are rude to an Emperor's Guard and they are rude in retaliation, there is a very low chance of them being punished by Sriram, Damen or Chelsey.

Becoming a Member
To become a member on the chat you must:

be active
registered on xat.com
follow the rules
be trusted by staff


Administrators can make anyone they deem fit a member, unless the user has been blacklisted by Warden or Monarchy. Moderators can only make members with Administrator permission

Becoming a Moderator
To become a moderator on the chat you must:

be active
registered on xat.com
have a complete understanding of, follow and enforce the chat rules
not abuse your position


Administrators can make moderators with Warden or Monarchy permission.

Currently only Administrators are Owner and Main Owner on the chat.
