Detective Application - DSC

7th July 2015, 01:35 PM
Dear administrators and detective staff, please consider me the rank of detective.
Name: PenguinDSC [known as DSC on Oldcp]
Age: 14 (Birth date is April 25, 2001)
Timezone: EST
Date Joined: July 2013, September 20nd, 2013 (forums)
Although I do not have much experience is gun holding, or being a detective, I have wielded a sword before, and I believe that I can get trained by the best. I have seen others use guns, and know how to use one. I have solved a case of mickey in 2013, and I figured out his plan. I wish to become a detective so I can train and be a part of the detective agency.
The reason I would like to become a detective is because I find crimezone most intriguing although it is not exactly real. It has mind boggling puzzles that are never easy, even with knowledge, and it is so entertaining. I would also like to protect citizens, and look for clues, as I would be active enough to do the job right. It would also give me more experience, as I always like having more experience, and also to try new things, and achieve more. And, of course, it would make it official to be a help to crimezone and to solve mysteries and explore possibilities.
I have been a part of the staff since November of 2013, on and off. I have used a sword before, so I believe I can be trusted with a gun if possible. I have never betrayed the empire, so I believe that I will continue working for it for a long time. I have been here since crimezone started and I know all about what to do. I have seen detectives do their jobs, and I know that I have to have a large capacity of possibilities, and I must think harder and deep into the case.
Special Skills/Qualities: Even though I am 14 years old, I have the brain of a 16 year old and the imagination of a 18 year old. I have the book smarts, and a noticeable bit of common sense. I excel in math (currently in Algebra 2), am bilingual in Spanish (not fully of course), and I love to read. I had to do a book report on a famous book writer, and mystery writer, Agatha christie. I did very well on the grade, and learned much more when I looked into the subject of detectives and crime, since most of her famous books were mentioned. I am friendly, but a quick learner, so I can hopefully improve my senses. I am on a swimming team, and I am taught never to give up. My coaches [college level] do so much for me and make me as strong and witty as can be. I show that I will never give up, and will keep on trying.
So, in conclusion, even though I have not experience in being a detective, I have the special skills and knowledge to be one, and I hope I would have enough trust to have a gun/hold the rank of detective. Thank you for reading, and I hope you consider me as a part of the detective crew, I would be very excited to hear that.

Suggestion - Liking Requirements + Cuss sensor?

Wait, why can't rookies like posts?
If you read the post, it would explain. Rookies aren't as trusted, and could gain at least a little trust by being a member. People often cheat reputation, and it needs to be stopped.

i like your thinking... but i mean, 20 posts and 40 rep is pretty good. but that would just defeat the purpose. meaning it would be exactly like 30 posts and 50 rep (or other way around) we would just -10 to both of them and call it a requirement. it r
But, the member requirement was changed to 40 reputation, so I think that 20 posts should be added to it so there would be no cheating.

Suggestion - Liking Requirements + Cuss sensor?

Hey people! I think that this is something that needs to be added - Liking requirements. Well, anyone can like, so they can spam like, and do wrong with likes. There should be a requirement for liking posts, and that would simply be member, since it automatically is given at 40 reputation. That seems like a good requirement, but I would also like to talk about member requirements. I think that if someone got 40 reputation, then it could be cheated. I think that the automatic member maker should be 20 posts + 40 reputation. So that means that rookies cannot like posts either.
Also, if possible, there should be a cuss sensor where the forum will know if you type in a bad word. There would be a list of words that could not be used. Of course, someone couldn't make a mood as a rookie, but they can make discussions with them in it. Although, we have moderators who moderate the forums, it would be much easier to sensor some of the bad words so people cannot use them, because there are little kids here. You can still cuss on a mood reply, or others, but at least this will make moderators jobs easier.
Keep in mind, these are just suggestions. Give me feedback on what you think could also help, and if it wouldn't help or not. Bye!

What Stag meant to say

Didn't you hear that Shrek and squidward aren't real? Screenhog made the channel, but it doesn't matter. Screenhog was tricked into having led the blackhawks, because they had the same initials. Damen wouldn't just have crimezone and everything is himself. He hires people, and those people are mysterious, and you have to figure it all out. Mickey is Mickey, Squidward + Shrek are nothing. All of your theories make literally no sense. I have read almost all of your theories, and it is very confusing. Shrek isn't real, so he cannot die. It was the trickery of Mickey, and Hashir figured that out. It will not be changed. This is all roleplay, so Damen wouldn't be involved on another account unless on his Damen account. As I said, people are hired to do these jobs. Anyways, I believe Hashir is correct.

Amazing, outstanding application! You have been here for so long and I think you have just the qualifications and qualities. Anyways, this application has all it needs, and you have a ton of experience, and age (within the dsghq). You would be perfect for the job, and I think you would make a wonderful addition to the team.

This is very useful, if it were possible to have a list of banned words, that'd be nice. As always, this will be a great addition, and will make moderators jobs much easier. Thank you for this.

This is what happens when you become a dream demon. I love this, it's so creative and amazingly drawn/created. Compare you and Bill, and you would find yourself the real Alex Hirsch. You are as skilled as him, and the mysteries continue. The next episode airs on the 12th, so excited for it.

First of all, I want ot thank you all for supporting me enough. I have been here for 2 full years, thanks to all of you. There are many people who I will thank, but if I don't mention you, I am sorry, there are too many to count. I don't just want everyone saying "You didn't add me", because this might be just people who impacted me the most. So I hope you enjoy these kind words, for I really mean them.
Who I want to Thank
The forums - The forums has been here for almost two years now, since I joined the forums in September of 2013. It has been such a delight, and has been one of the best impact I could EVER have. First of all, thank you Damen for starting this community. I remember the oldcp forums, and just having tons of fun with the little people that were active here. I remember all of my first closest friends on the forums, with all the inspiration, I wanted to help others. From the forums, I have firstly gotten good grammar, even better than before. I believe I am smart, and a bit over average, but with this forums, I learned better grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc., from posting. I have gotten better at tolerance, from my first experience as forums moderator. I get to help by banning, and understanding what it is like to be in power. I know what to do in certain situations, and more. This forums has helped me mature the most I have ever. When I came here, I was the most immature person there was. I wasn't a pookie, but I was just a hilarious person who played around with all my friends until I met the forums. By being in power, I gained maturity from watching others, and I realized that it set a bad example on others by being immature, so I have improved so much here, and even in real life because of the dsghq forums I know and love today. I even am better in composition and writing because of making posts, and I have been redundant, so I have had less of that.
Damen - Where would I be without you? You have given me so much and I enjoy being here so much. I came here because I was sad about all the new changes with club penguin. I looked up old club penguin because I saw an interview with fizz, and I thought that this would be interesting. Ever since I joined oldcp, so many changes have occurred, and we have added so much since then, and it will be even better in the future. You have given me the chance to be part of the staff, and all of us a chance to renew the lovely place we know today as oldcp. Through all the ups and downs, you never stopped. We were shut down 4 times, or around that many times, and you still brought it back, fearless of what would happen. We now are safe from Disney, but something could happen in the future, but in my heart I trust you. When I first met you, you seemed like a kid who was very busy, and I thought you were like 18. I was very surprised at what you could do at your age, and I wanted to start learning html and coding. Since my dad works as an engineer, I wanted to learn codes because of this too. Anyways, I started to get to know you better, but we still didn't talk often. I got administrator on march 13th of 2014. I was so suprised that you liked my application, even if I was an immature acting 12 year old who knew nothing about being an administrator. Although I didn't get a chance at that, you gave me another chance months later, after I returned. Even then, you were grateful enough to show me how to work everything, and all that stuff. Anyways, in the past few months, I have truly seen who you really are, a great friend who just wants to make us happy. I realized that not everything can be our way, and because it is so hard to keep everything up and have fun yourself, I was still ungrateful for what I had, and I want to apologize for being impatient sometimes, and even against some things that you said. You are so nice, handsome, smart, knowing, understanding, and you just fill me with joy, because I know that you and others will do whats right for us. I love this community of people, thank you.
Sadie - Sadie, oh Sadie. You are one of the most inspiring girls I have ever met in my life. When I first met you, you told me to be positive for what happened, and always say true to who I am. To this day, I have committed to changing since I first joined, and I will always remember you in my heart, and because of you, my grammar has improved, I have become less immature, and I have definitely made better posts. You are basically a sister to me, and you have brought me lots of happiness, Through all of hanging out with you, thank you Sadie.
Bailey - You are such a brother to me. You are literally my best friend. You were always there for me and support me, and still do today. We chat a lot, and you have improved my posting, my good attitude towards others, and my sassiness (lol). Even though we have left the community, we still were friends, and now we can talk whenever. You have been there for me whether it is a bad situation, or just a very good one. You never let go of me, and you were always by my side. We always joke around, and I wish I could visit you. So thanks, buddy, you are awesome.
Fizz - You were the first moderator I met when I started oldcp, and you were a little bit of the reason I came here. You are an awesome badass who is there for me, and just the best joker ever. I guess the twins are a part of your life, but now that you are back, nothing can take us apart. Thanks for being a great friend, I hope you stay for a while.
Terry - Wow, there is nothing I can ever say to prove someone wrong that this kid is the best person ever. There is no reason to demote him, because he is such a good person. Even though you may not understand everything, you were still there in times of need, and you are the silliest person I know. You make me laugh, and amaze me at how I can improve. You have change my mind about many things, and I thank you for the commitment to our friendship, thank you for everything that you have ever done for and with me.
Fluffybacon and Kricken - You girls are the most wonderful people on this planet. Kricken, when I met you, you were fierce, always sat on my lap, and just were the funniest person I have ever met. Fluffybacon, the love of my life, you have changed me in so many ways. When I met you, kricken, you, me, and Maniac were the best of friends, and that has never changed since. You were my ducky buddy, and we have just done so much with our oldcp lives together. Kricken,, you and fluffybacon have never changed, you girls are the most serious, yet hilarious, girls I know, and I hope you never change. Stay away from Fernando, Kricken
Sherlock - Surprisingly, you have done so much for me. You have taught me to be who I am, and never change myself. I have learned that even if someone isn't like us, I should never judge said person. You are my brother basically, and even though we don't talk often, you have made a great impact on me. Thank you for being who you are, you are outstanding, and I hope you thrive.
Hashir - No kidding, this is the most mature 10-12 year old I have ever known. When I met you, you were so serious, and I was surprised at your age. You have been there for me, and we have played around a lot. You have been faithful with staying here, and you are extremely smart and witty. Maybe I don't know your name, or what you look like, but it is the inside that counts, and by the looks oif who you are, you seem like the person who will do amazing in life. You are awesome, and a good friend, thank you for being here. The twins and you will be here forever.
May23 - You are one of my best friends, and have stuck with me since I got here. We have done everything together, and even though you are a rebel sometimes, you make me laugh, and you have impacted how I think of myself and others. Thanks for being the kind, sweet, loving person you still are today.
Tennis - Since recently this year, we have gotten to know each other even better, and you amaze me at what you've done. You are so hilarious, and yet seriously astounding. You sound so mature, and you are. You make me laugh, and you are one of many who will love me unconditionally. Thank you for being there when needed, you are the cool dood.
Screenhog - You have been one of my friends since I started, Even through everything that happened, even though I forgot about you at one point, you still stayed confident and trusted in me, and look where you are today. You are a great friend, and such a hog lol. Thanks you for being by my side
Chex - I don't even know about this girl. She is so funny, and mature, and always was by my side, especially when I was sad. We have known each other for a year now, and you have done so much for me and this community. Thanks for making me funnier each day, I hope we can stay in touch.
I didn't add all of the people I expected, but if you ask me, I might add you in. I forget many things, but as always, I would like to thank Damen for making this community, and for helping me be so loyal, kind, and forgiving. I love you all, and as always, I will remember you all. Thank you for being there, I will never leave this place unless fully necessary, so I will be around here for a while. Through everything, I have had such wonderful experiences, which I cannot name all of them, but you get the point. Thanks for being there, everyone, bye!

PETITION: Clearer OldCP Rules
•
29th June 2015, 12:43 PM
This would be VERY useful, saying that many people have done this. They just come without knowing the rules, and break them. I have seen this happen with new users brought in, they don't see the rules, so they assume they can cuss or anything. What is the point of enforcing rules if some users don't know they exist? #Petiton4start

How to Acquire a Moderator Position
•
29th June 2015, 12:37 PM
Hello. This is PenguinDSC, and here are some ways you may be able to acquire the moderator position. It is not hard, yet easy, but you must be patient in all of it get close, because it will show that you are very desperate. Being desperate isn't bad, unless you try to get it super hard. Wanting it is okay, but there are some things you would need to avoid, like being impatient, breaking rules, etc.
How to Acquire a Moderator Position
1. Follow the rules. The rules are what are important. If you follow the rules and show that you can enforce them, then you are showing a good example of yourself. http://forums.damenspike.com/view/161
2. Be active. By being active, it is good to be on around 8-12 hours a week. Although we don't have certain requirements anymore, we need mods that get on a lot, preferably around 8-12 hours a week. There is no literal limit, but you need to be on enough to show that you are working hard for it.
3. Be Patient. Being patient is one of the best qualities you can have. Patience means waiting no matter how long, and not bugging anyone or asking for mod ever.
4. Respect everyone, even regular people. By respecting others, you can show that you are nice, and will not hurt another by bullying, or cussing. By respecting the staff, you show that you would respect them no matter what. Do not cause drama with anyone either, that will just get you in trouble or banned.
5. Don't have a ban record. This isn't really required, but you shouldn't have a ban record, because it shows that you don't have trust, at least for a while. You can get banned for cussing, bullying (automatic ban), doing bad things, inapp things, etc.
6. Know what a mod does. You have to not just know what a mod is, you have to know what a moderator is HERE and how we do ours jobs. You need to know the commands. Some of the moderator commands are /goto (username), /summon (username), /whisper (username) (message), /kick (username), /warn (username), /ban (username), /arrest (username), and /ipban (username). There are some more, but those are the basic one's that you will use if you are a moderator.
7. You need to be willing to do anything someone says, and not be lazy, be you are making a commitment when being a moderator. If someone wants you to go to another, say /goto (requested person), and summon the one who wanted to go to said perosn. If someone is being inappropriate or is breaking a rule outside of where you are and someone reports it, then ask who, where they last saw the bad person, and when.
8. You need to know when to use your "banning powers". I don't really know what to call them, but those are warn, ban, kick, arrest, and ipban. If someone is snowball spamming (4+ snowballs), then you ask them to stop. If they don't listen to you, then you warn them. If they still don't listen, you should kick them. If they do it again, it is an arrest. It may be different depending on what happens, but that is what you should do. If someone is cussing, then just kick them. If they do it again, arrest them. If it is an abbreviated cuss, just warn, and if they do it again, kick and/or arrest. If someone is bullying, it is an automatic ban, but if they bully twice, I believe it is an ipban (on two separate accounts). If someone is banned 3 times, then you ipban.
9. Be helpful. You should help around to show that you are willing to do your job. This goes along with being committed.
10. Be mature enough, and have good grammar. If you are 9 years old, you probably are not right for the job. Having good grammar means that you have good spelling, you know what words go where, etc. You need to be mature, because if you are goofing around a lot, you will probably get demoted.
11. Make an application (optional). Making an application is good, because it will show administrators what experience you might have, whey you want the job, etc. For help on making an application, click the link to the right. http://forums.damenspike.com/view/?id=38061 Remember, this will not be the exact format for an application, but will help you to make one.
12. Win a moderator Comp/Get married to a royal. These are less likely, but possible. Every season there is a mod compition where users compete for the rank of moderator by completing a set of tasks. Getting married to a royal means you are in the royal family, and have a rank. The chances of getting married to a royal are unlikely, but it is possible.
13. Have member rank on forums. Having the member rank on forums means that you are active enough that you would be trusted for mod. It also shows that you use most of the dsghq services. Having master shows that you have trust, so that will be good on an application, or if you are trying for moderator.
14. Have Experience. You should be here for about 3-5 months, to show that you have experience with the dsghq. Having a rank on here means you have trust. If you have a rank on another game or forum, that is also good on an application. If you get a rank on the dsghq, don't resign just for moderator, because that shows that you didn't really care much for that rank. Being a xat moderator (an active one) can show that you are trusted with a rank. If you have responsibility, staff will know that you are responsible and trustworthy with your rank.
15. NEVER abuse your powers. If you ever have powers before moderator, or have moderator, do not abuse them, because that will definitely make you have a lesser chance of moderator.
16. Ask questions. By asking questions, you can know more about things, and it will help you know more. If you have more knowledge of the dsghq, you are more likely to be picked.
These are just some tips I would suggest if you are trying to get moderator, good luck!
