Mordor lord of rings

The east of Mordor is by far the least mentioned of any of Mordor's geographic notes and descriptions. One might assume that the easiest route to Mount Doom would be for the Fellowship to journey through the 'unguarded' section of the east, where no mountains guard; however, we are told in the Fellowship of the Ring that the area was heavily defended by a line of border forts facing Sauron's allies in Rhûn. In theory, these forts have no use, because to get there they would have to pass along the western edge of Rhûn, and Sauron's strongest allies, the Easterlings, abode there. Also it would have been difficult to pass unnoticed because of the many roads running from Mordor into Rhûn were always being marched along by Easterlings entering Mordor or patrolling the roads and borders.

Game of thrones facts

The fourth season of HBO’s Game Of Thrones is in full swing and, naturally, it’s been breaking all kinds of records. Fans just can’t get enough of George R.R. Martin’s devilish cynicism, breaking the network’s official online streaming service HBO GO with the season premiere and pulling in a record-breaking number of illegal downloads with the second episode, The Lion And The Rose – which should come as no surprise to anyone who’s seen it. And we’ve been under the same spell, with thoughts about dragons, wildlings, and the dangers of weddings never too far from our minds.
In an effort to fill up the cold emptiness between new Game Of Thrones episodes, we’ve been ransacking the internet for anything GoT-related and ran into some pretty mind-blowing stuff. The facts you’re about to read through aren’t as obvious as Martin basing his medieval Westeros on The War Of The Roses, or as immaterial as actor Peter Dinklage being a vegetarian. No, we’ve narrowed down 10 things that are genuinely surprising; facts that will make you look at the characters – and the actors who portray(ed) them – in a completely different light, or tidbits that are simply too crazy not to include.
Without further ado – our fellow Game Of Thrones addicts – join us down a path full of mind-blowing facts, as we patiently bide our time before the fourth episode this Sunday…but be wary there are some SPOILERS for the third season, and the second episode of the fourth.
That’s right, Kristian Nairn was a full-time DJ before he landed the role of the loveable giant Hodor in HBO’s hit show. He grew up in Northern Ireland – and into a massive 6 foot 10 frame – making him the tallest Game Of Thrones cast member – which, funnily enough, paved the way to performance arts and DJing rather than sports. In addition to spinning vinyl, DJ Nairn also sings, plays guitar, and performs on stage.
During the off-season, when he’s not carrying Bran around and saying one of 70 different versions of “Hodor”, Nairn still DJs in his native Belfast. Now that the show is so popular, just about every actor in it is getting recognised whether they’re walking on the street or making you bust a move on the dance floor. During the quieter moments of Nairn’s sets, fans of the show shout out “Hodor!” as a way to egg him on and shower praise for his work on the show.
Now that we’ve got the mental image, the only question is; how will we ever look at Hodor the same way again?

Will Champion
William Champion was born in Southampton, Hampshire, England, on 31 July 1978 and was brought up in the Highfield suburb of the city, close to the University of Southampton where his father, Timothy Champion, is a professor of archaeology.
As a youth, Champion's musical influences included Tom Waits, Nick Cave and traditional Irish folk music. He learned to play piano and violin when he was 8 and he learned to play the guitar when he was 12. He also has experience on the bass, and tin whistle. Before he joined Coldplay, Champion performed in a band called Fat Hamster. Unfortunately his mum died and a song was dedicated to her.
