The quest for

This book is a book.

1978, Thursday, April 24th.

Today I and my partner prepared for a small job to catch an older man named "Zesley Afron" [Zeh-sel-e, ah-fer-ohn] I slowly stretched my arms upwards as David turned to me "Are you sure you wanna go forward with this, Ol' sport?" I paused, and quickly affirmed with a nod. Shortly after a shower, gear gathering, and a small meal. We entered our car, a smaller model. David called the keys so I had no choice but to ride shotgun even though I don't really thrust his driving skills. We'll be driving for a day, exciting.

1978, Friday, April 25th

We've arrived at the location where our hit is suppose to take place, it's a small bar in Louisiana. David commented on it's oddly vacant look, despite very clearly being open. I gave it no forethought other then it being your regular American hole in the wall. Soon after we entered, we sat down at the counter. A short stout man turned from rubbing down a shot glass with what seemed to be a hand towel before leaning his arms against the counter. "What can I do fer' ya?" he asked, his breath was riddled with the odor of alcohol and meat. After gathering myself we questioned if he knew the name of one "Zesley Afron" he thought about it. After a bit of thinking, he cleared his throat. "Yeah I do, actually" he scribbled down an address "I think he mentioned some people coming to visit so, I'll give you his address" I and David were shocked, obviously. Just to hand over the address so easily? As we took the address he winked and commented "Consider that your train ticket" David laughed awkwardly, and pulled me away from the man. The two of us entered the car, David was probably nervous over the fact a man had just grabbed his girlfriend but understandably so he was calm about it. He put the key in the car and sighed. "It's about an hour away, it's getting late so we should stop for the night" I agreed.

1978, Saturday, April 26th

We awoke and got dressed, David reminded me he wanted to get home as quickly as possible. I agreed and we headed to the car after getting our morning dues over, with haste. It felt as if I couldn't remember what we had the that morning, as if it had been quickened. I'll ignored the feeling. We took to the address, it was a small house where a man lived we knew so cause he was sitting outside. When we approached he looked up towards us.

Today I and my partner prepared for a small job to catch a young woman named "Korian Lutina" [Koh-ehri, Luh tihna] I slowly stretched my arms upwards as Michael turned to me "Are you sure you wanna go forward with this, Nate?" I paused, and quickly affirmed with a nod. Shortly after a shower, gear gathering, and a small meal. We entered our car, a smaller model. Michael owned the car so I had no choice but to ride shotgun even though I don't really care, I felt off "We'll be driving for a day" Michael said I wasn't pleased.

1978, Friday, April 24th

I can't shake the feeling of Deja vu, as we entered the small bar. We spoke with the man, he said nothing afterwards.. surely we had to go to the address and do what we need, which is kill the woman. Michael suggested that we stop, I said not to. We're both men, we can take an hour drive in the night. When we arrived to the location, a small docking yard. Nobody was there, so today's adventure was cut short. Nothing of use really happened. Nothing worth writing down.

1978, Saturday, April 24th

We woke up in the car, well I did. I decided to go check the docking yard out, where I found a man. I scouted him out before I decided to talk to him. He turned to me and.

1978, Thursday, April 24th

I woke up on a train, I think my name is David. I'm not really sure. I stood up and sat down to gather my thoughts, of which I had none really. I found this notebook and began scribbling in it, worriedly. It has pages in it already, as if whomever wrote it had just vanished exactly on "Saturday" I found this extremely odd, it references someone with the name of David as well... I wonder if I'm the same person? I began walking through carts in the train, realizing that the windows outside are.. wrong, not exactly wrong. More-so what it displays is... psychically impossible, displaying Indiana, then New York. I began ignoring them as they didn't help me, in some carts people were in them... less people then static-y shadows preforming routine actions. As I reached further "backwards" in the train, the more it seemed everything became more impossible in nature. I found a storage cart and decided to sleep there.

1978, Friday, April 24th

As I woke up, the room around me had shifted. I was in a normal cart room as if the train itself had moved its innards while I had slept. I took a minute to process before moving on and making my way through the carts. As I approached the "back" most cart, from what I could see I was quite glad to maybe be able to get off of this infallible loop of a train. If only I had taken a moment to realize that it was.. exactly that. As I exited the back cart, I was soon... back in the middle. Where a man put a hand on my shoulder.

Sometimes I wanna be on a...

The man wore a red showman coat, and was fashionably dressed. He spoke in a loud booming voice "Hahaha! My boy, what are you doing here?" He asked, I had no answer. He simply chuckled "I see"
he took his hat off revealing his ginger hair, and cleared his throat.

"You have seek'd me out, surely"

"You thought you'd achieve me, and surely kill me and take your bounty"

"But you didn't, you never reached that truth"

"You tried to find me, and in doing so you found yourself lost again. That is the nature of..."
