Broken glass- PT 1

Can broken glass help a girl find what she needs in order to save a life?
We need a plan to have an answer...
Chapter 1:
Fallen Mistakes
I was not sure how to explain my love for broken items. I was not even sure how to explain anything honestly. My room was my hideout and I would go there when I was feeling down. My feelings changed when a big storm hit where I lived at the time. I faced many surgeries from being too hurt. My best friend Sofie wasn't quite sure what she should have done to help me or anyone. I am glad she did not live near me at the time. We just called and would speak for hours until we had to go. Everything seems different now. I can't quite do anything by myself. I need assistance for most stuff now. But one thing Sofie said to me still repeats itself in my head... "Sweet Pamella, you are someone I cannot replace." But that all fell apart when she met a new best friend. I accepted it. I did not mind. You can not always keep a friend for that long. I understood many things that have happened and spoke my own opinions. If I actually cared, I would have been very angry, but I have been taught from a young age to accept what happens. And so I did.
Chapter 2:
The Glass
I touched the window glass as I put my plate in the sink. It felt cold, icy, and just like any ordinary window that anyone can possibly have. For some reason, it meant a lot more to me than just a window. I then find myself cleaning it. I wiped it spotless with an old towel. I felt it again and this time it felt warm. I was still confused on why I did what I did but I knew it was for a reason.
I continue this to every window until all windows are spotless. It made me feel better. Cleaning was always something I enjoyed doing, but the time told me I should really try to sleep now since I have school tomorrow. I grabbed my teddy bear and held it tight in my arms as I relaxed myself onto my bed.
Chapter 3:
"I missed you!"
I screamed as I ran up to Sophie to tell her how much I missed her and how amazing my trip was after school! We have not spoke at school since she was absent but now that we are, I feel this happiness inside of me.
"I missed you! Oh my gosh, Layla, look at you!" Sophie was so proud of me for some reason.
"I missed you, too," I replied, "how is your brother?"
"He is doing fine. You?" She asked me, it was enough to make me smile.
"I am okay. Getting used to things still," I actually was.
"I see, so, how is the new house?"
"It's cool I guess, kind of creepy since I am not used to it."
"Yeah, I felt that before." She sighed, "I really missed you. I am sorry for everything I did to you. I can't replace you. I won't replace you. I am sorry."
"It's fine, don't spend your time being sorry. Spend your time looking on the bright side of things. You're allowed to hang out with whoever you want to. But no matter what happens, we will still always be friends. I don't care if you are mad at me or not, I will always love you like a sister." I sighed.
"I love you, too, Layla."
"Layla?" Sophie looked at me.
"Yeah?" I looked right in her eyes.
"Do you want to go get ice cream soon?" Sophie asked me.
"Of course!" I ran around in circles to show how happy I was.
>>> (next week) And my day pretty much ended there. We were getting ice cream the following day.
Chapter 4:
Too Cold!
"No! You dropped your ice cream on yourself, aw, wait, let me get a napkin for you." Sophie got up and grabbed one, started to wipe my shirt to get the ice cream off.
"Thank you," I replied. "I could of done it myself though." I felt a little shame saying that.
"Oh, sorry." She replied to me.
"No, it's fine."
"How is school going?" She asked me as we walked to the park after for some fresh air.
"It's fine. I am trying really hard to pass anything I can but I seem to not do as well as I hoped, ya know?" I answered.
"Yeah, good luck I am also trying to pass anything I can, not working all the time." She knew how I felt this time.
Chapter 5:
Cold Grass
I lay myself down onto the grass with a loud THUMP! "Ouch!" It felt cold but moist as the beaming sun hit other areas, just not under the tree. I wanted to take down the tree but it is nature. I can't hurt nature. That is not like me. I chose to not hurt it! I will not. I still enjoy everything about it. I just wish this one area was not so cold. Even in the hottest times. I put my hand over my head to block any light that attempts to pass through to me. I did not enjoy the humidity. It was only turning to Spring.
I sat under the tree and thought some more... I feel lonely. I am sorry for ignoring Sophie but she has betrayed my trust. That hurt a lot. I did not even mean to sound rude to anyone. She didnt treat me the way I wanted to be treated at all. I just hoped for the best as usual!
Chapter 6:
Done With Being Pushed Around
I wake up from a heavy sleep. I take a glance at my clock... 7:38! I am going to be late if I do not hurry up. I quickly jump out of bed and grab the outfit I want to wear. There was a slightly cold breeze outside so I decided to wear a sweater instead of a jacket. As I throw my shoes on, the wind from under the door tickles my bare toes. I wiggle them around to shake it off. I grab my book bag and walk on the path to Sophies house. Knock! Knock! "Why hello there, Pamella. Are you here for Sophie?" A mother has asked me.
"I am. Is she here or did she leave without me?" I ask, trying to get a look inside of the beautiful house.
"She has already left to school, she thought you slept in and wouldn't make it on time. Care for some tea?"
"Oh, well okay. I guess I have a minute but we have to make this quick or else I will be late."
"Will do," She said as she handed me a cup of tea.
The scent lifted itself throughout the house. It smells delicious so I take a sip. "Thank you, it is delicious!" I say with a lop sided smile.
"Thank you, glad you're enjoying it." She replies, smiling a perfect smile back.
"I have to go. It is 7:48. I do not want to be late again."
"I understand. Goodbye! Come back later for cookies." She winks.
As I walk up the path to school, I realize how quiet it is today. It is very odd since it's always loud around here. I am just curious if something is wrong?
"Hey, Layla!" Sophie stares right at my outfit. "Nice outfit," She says. I did not expect the last thing she said, "Did you find it near trash?"
I glance over to her quickly and give a this-isn't-you face.
She does not talk to me more after that so I decide it is time for me to move on.
But middle school was not easy. Not at all. I knew it would only get harder since I was only on 1/3 of the grades in Middle School.
"Sorry about what happened." Ash sighs.
"I am fine. Friends are not always there for you." I reply.
"I see, but it was hurtful to watch, you know?"
"I know but I can understand more better often."
"Oh..." He hesitates.
"Good luck on the test today." I smile.
"Thanks, you too." He smiles back. "I am going to head to class now, see you later I guess."
"See you." I look down at the floor, my hair falling over my face as I let out a sigh.
I was DONE with being pushed around. No matter where I went, what I did, what I said, I always had to be judged for something. I was done with it! I was going to stick up for myself eventually. I just don't know when...
