"I can't believe my little girl is going to be a Pokémon trainer!" Mrs. Canton said, squeezing a girl. That girl's name is Sofia Canton. Today was a big day for her. She was going to become a Pokémon trainer. "Thanks, mom..." Sofia said, pushing away and smiling, "I gotta get my things and head over to Dr. Oak's lab. Bye!" Mrs. Canton waved goodbye and went upstairs.

As Sofia made her way to Dr. Oak's lab, she was pushed by a running boy, then trampled by a girl running after him. "Hey, Zoey. Juliana." Sofia and the girl, supposedly named Zoey, called the boy Juliana. His real name was Julian. They both apologized and greeted her. "So, you ready to get your first Pokémon?" Julian said, standing up. "Yeah! I'm actually heading over there right now. What about you?" Zoey stood up after him and shook her head. The three have been best friends since. They were a weird group, so they were the only friends they had. "Hey, why don't you two come with me?" Sofia asked. "Sure!" Julian and Zoey said at the same time. Then, the three of them walked to a small lab.

"Ah! The three power twins - or triplets.... I'm not so sure." Dr. Oak welcomed as soon as they stepped in. "Hey, Dr. Oak," Zoey said. "So, are you all ready to get your first Pokémon? We've got a variety of them waiting for you!" he said. The three sat down and looked through the Pokémon. Sofia got a Charmander, Zoey got a Jigglypuff, and Julian got a Squirtle. "Good choices." Dr. Oak said. "Now, I have a package that was delivered to me. I'll need to get it. See you later!" he said, hurrying out.
