Herobrine was the Overworld boss, He really hated minecraft players until jeb removed him from the game.

Here is the real story.

Notch and Brine were playing outside. It started raining like CRAZY! Brine was struck by lightning as Notch was running inside. Brine, sadly, died. R.I.P Brine. But, unexpectedly, in Brine's grave, he was struck by lightning, again! He rised from the dead. He changed his name to Herobrine, and is now haunting innocent Minecraft players.
