Author's Note: This is a full story of "A Born Legacy" story of Snaildom. I felt that Glory Days did not get enough attention. Also, Chapter 1 and the characters, including the store clerk, are recycled from Glory Days. I hope you enjoy this story.
Chapter 1 - Adventure in the Air
It was just a normal day on April 12, 1791. Three snails were in a wealthy snail city called Miyazaki. The first snail was named Lance. The second snail was called Jorge. The third snail was known as Glenn. All three of them were born on the same day, September 20th. Lance was born in 2001. Jorge came along in 2005. Finally, Glenn came along in 2007. Despite the snails being quite young, they were one of the wisest and most well-known snails in the metropolitan town.
One day, Lance decided to do something that would change everything. "Guys, let's go find land that hasn't been discovered before. Then we can settle in it!" Lance enthusiastically said. "How are we going to do that?" Glenn asked, bewildered at Lance's idea. "Simple. We'll just grab a boat with three benches, 6 oars, and then we'll be on our way!" Jorge spoke up.
Later, at the water equipment store, the snails were looking for a 3-benched boat and 6 oars. Glenn and Lance found the oars, while Jorge was looking for the boat. They decided to ask Ian Miroslav, the store clerk.
"Where can we find a 3-benched boat?" Jorge asked.
"Oh my! Thanks for reminding me. I was going to sell this 3-benched boat for free. Are you looking for wooden or iron?" Ian replied.
"I think we'll go with iron, just in case we hit something on our trip overseas." Lance said.
"Overseas, eh? You must like exploring and traveling." Ian spoke back, impressed. "Follow me to the 3-benched iron boats."
Another amount of time later, Lance and Jorge were ready to push the boat in the water, with Glenn in the back of the boat. "Are you sure about this?" Jorge asked. "Yeah, I'm fine! Just get it over with," Glenn answered. "I'm getting hungry just waiting here."
The two elders pushed the boat into the water, hopped onto the boat, and started their journey.
Their biggest journey was about to begin...
Chapter 2 - A Destiny To Be Found
It was sunrise at sea. Lance, Jorge, and Glenn were 193 meters away from their city that they departed from. Lance was tired, but he knew he had to keep rowing. Fortunately, Lance was a determined type of snail, and he carried on. Meanwhile, Jorge decided to grab some snacks for the three. They skipped breakfast and lunch because they were searching for a boat earlier. Glenn decided to fall asleep. While the other two were concentrating on finding the island, Glenn was in the back seat.
Suddenly, Glenn started to tip over. "Do you feel the boat getting lightweight at the back?" Jorge asked. "I think I do..." Lance replied. They both looked over. "Glenn!" they both blurted out.
Glenn was about to fall in the water, but Jorge threw him back into the boat just in time. "Why did you wake me up? I was in the middle of a really good nap!" Glenn said. "You were tipping over and you were about to fall off the boat!" Lance exclaimed. "I was?!" Glenn shouted.
"Guys! Look!" Jorge said, hopping up and down! "I see land!"
What appeared to be a little island was to be Lance's, Jorge's, and Glenn's big dream.
Chapter 3 - Arrival
"A kingdom!!!" the three snails shouted at the same time.
The kingdom was glorious. When they entered the kingdom, the homes and buildings were built in iron, but given a coat of glorious golden paint. About 1 or 2 buildings were in construction, and then they saw the huge castle that looms over the civilization. It was called Snaildom.
"Not so fast," Lance quickly spoke. "We need to get permission to enter the whole kingdom. We'll go to this... wait, there's snails here TOO?!" Lance couldn't believe his eyes. "Yes, there must be snails inhabiting this place!" Glenn said. They walked over to the snail employee. "Hello, there. You three are all immigrants?" the snail employee said.
"Yes." the three snails said.
Later on, they were in the kingdom. For about 9 months, the three snails were in peace at the kingdom. Suddenly, on January 9th, 1791, they first heard from the Emperor. The Emperor was known as King Garrett. His royal executioner was named Joseph. "Attention, citizens," the Emperor said. "Enemy ships were spotted from faraway! We need to recruit for the army! We need to be ready for the big war!"
Lance, Jorge, and Glenn were excited to be recruits for the army. The three always dreamed of being in the army. However, the three snails knew to be serious about it, and the three snails were loved by many throughout the kingdom because they were wise and not stupid.
Glenn, Jorge, and Lance slowly paved the way to the castle. When they got there, they started to convince the Emperor. "Emperor Garret and Joseph, may we serve in your army?" Jorge said. "Well, even though you've only been here for 9 months, I've looked at your experience and I've decided to give you an instant rank of High General; one rank below 4th in command.
The three were bewildered and astounded by what they've heard. "We'll take it!" Lance boomed.
It was May 23rd, 1791. 4 months have passed, and no enemy signs yet. However, on May 23rd, the enemy ships started to come into view. Fortunately, the army, made up of 2,581,300 snails, were ready to fire and sink the enemy ships. However, the enemies were the Redsnails. About 71% of their 2,700,858 troops worked on ships. However, that meant 10% of the troops fought on land. To finish it off, 19% of the Redsnails were in fighter jets. Fortunately, 30% of the Snaildom army would fight on ships, 20% of the troops would fight in fighter jets, and 50% would fight on land. The Snaildom army had a good mental plan and good tactics, but the Redsnails were equal with their opposition with a greater size.
"Fire on land! Get in the fighter jets! Board the ships!" Lance and a Captain named Lee Yamada shouted at almost the same time. The land fighters fired their guns and bombs. The fighter jets took flight with all required snails inside. Ships took off from their anchors and began to battle, built with metal. The ships were not in need of weapons. Huge cannonballs were shot at enemy ships. For the fighter jets, nuclear weapons were unloaded from the bottom of the plane onto the enemy ships and, if needed, enemy fighter jets.
"You alright up there, Gregory?" an Officer Commander named Bruce said to the Lance Corporal in flight on a fighter jet. "Yeah, I'm fine! I'll let you know if the jet's in danger." Gregory replied back to the walkie-talkie. "Alright. Just make sure that no-one gets completely destroyed." Bruce called back. With that, he went offline to battle on the S.S. AD-921, the ship that he had boarded.
With the battle going on, no one knew what was coming each other's way...
Chapter 4 - The Turning Point
3 months have passed since the war started, and the war did not look much better. Since both the Snaildom and Redsnails armies could never die due to an immortal potion each snail of both armies took, the only reason to take someone out of war was because of horrifying injuries and potentially fatal crashes on ships and jets.
About 2,396,512 out of the 2,700,858 troops remained in the Redsnails. Meanwhile, 2,381,358 of the 2,581,300 troops of Snaildom remained to fight.
Lance, Jorge, and Glenn were still in it for the battle. They all got promoted to the top three ranks. Lance took the Leader position, Jorge took 2nd in command, and Glenn took 3rd in command. The Redsnail Regime wouldn't quit easily, and neither would the snails of Snaildom.
Suddenly, a tragic event. No snails died, but thousands were badly injured. A giant nuclear bomb was dropped on the R.M.S. Takeda Mizuko, a fighter ship used by the Snaildom army. Redsnails floating in the air inside their own Boeing 737 dropped 1,300,001 pounds of TNT onto the ship. Despite thousands of Snaildom snails badly injured and the ship fatally sinking into the icy waters below, each snail survived, but had to be taken out of the war for 20 minutes to cure the injuries. Meanwhile, the Redsnails took advantage of the attack and about 1,000 of the troops abandoned ship and jets to attack land. While the Snaildom army still outnumbered the Redsnails currently on land, sea, and air combined, and while being better at tactics, the Snaildom and Redsnail armies were in a deadlock battle on the Snaildom Kingdom island.
Chapter 5 - A Sudden End to the War
While the Redsnails withdrew off the ships and jets and came onto land to fight, Lance, Jorge, and Glenn suddenly got an idea that could end the war and give victory for the Snaildom army. "Guys! I have a plan!" Glenn shouted to Jorge and Lance. They whispered to each other, agreed to the plan, got on the top of the castle, and started bombing the enemy ships and jets. "Wait... what's happening to our transportation?!" a Redsnail said when they noticed the bombs destroying their ships and jets. "Everyone! Stay on land!" the leader of the Redsnails boomed. They continued to fight, which meant the Redsnails were distracted. Lance, Jorge, and Glenn hopped onto the biggest fighter jet a Snaildom troop could use, and flew out to the Redsnail Kingdom, 1,391 miles away.
"Ready?" Lance said.
"Ready." Glenn said.
"Ready!" Jorge replied.
The three snails dropped a giant nuclear bomb on the Redsnail island that would destroy the island.
The Redsnail island was wiped out when the bomb hit the island.
Back at Snaildom, the Redsnails saw that their island was destroyed. The Redsnails were shocked and stood there like statues at their destroyed home.
"Why...why...wh-why..." a Redsnail troop started to stutter. He then dropped to his knees and started to swim in the icy cold waters to find a new home for the Redsnails. He eventually did, but the defeat was cold and grim for the Redsnail army. All of the Redsnails eventually started to follow the troop that would soon find a new island to settle on.
"HURRAY!" Snaildom shouted. They had achieved victory!
Lance, Jorge, and Glenn came back to the island. The Emperor greeted the three snails a year later in a formal event at the Castle.
"It has been a year since Lance, Jorge, and Glenn, leaders of the Snaildom army, bombed the Redsnail island to achieve victory in the Nuclear Snail War. I present to you three, the Medal of Honor." the Emperor spoke.
Everyone cheered. Soon, Lance, Jorge, and Glenn left the kingdom. The goodbyes were filled with tears and salutes. Eventually, their legacy became big, and the island was expanded to make room for the LJG Monument. L stood for Lance, J stood for Jorge, and G stood for Glenn. It showed giant statues of the three, almost as big as the Castle.
The three snails made a place for themselves in Snaildom. Forever.
The End.
