The Servant and the Master
Once, upon a time there was a man named Tom. Tom, was the richest Snail in Snaildom and he always got what he wanted. He lives in a giant shell alone with servants at his feet. He paid the servants very little and he treated them horribly. The master had just hired a big amount of new servants to work in his shell. One day, one of his new servants over cooked his dinner and Tom got very angry. "GO MAKE THIS FOR ME AGAIN BUT, RIGHT AFTER YOU DO THAT, I WANT YOU TO SCRUB THIS FLOOR TILL MIDNIGHT. WHEN I WAKE UP I WANT TO SEE MY REFLECTION IN IT!" The servant did not like his masters actions. That night after he scrubbed the floors he crept out of the shell and walked out. He needed help, so he wandered to Emperor Damen's castle.
He shivered in the presence of Damen looking down on him at his high throne. "Greetings." Damen announced. "I need your help," said the servant. "I work for a very rich man on the west side of the forest, he pays me very little and treats all of his servants horribly." The servant looked at his bare feet covered in dirt. He couldn't afford a pair of good shoes. Damen rested his head on his chin and began to speak. "Take this potion and pour it into your masters drink. When he drinks it he will learn to treat his servants with respect." The humble servant bowed as he took the potion out of Damen's hand. He walked out with relief and hurried back to his master's shell.
When the servant got back at his masters house at dawn and began to make breakfast. He poured the potion into his masters drink and poured another drink for himself. He placed two loaves of bread and butter on a plate and gave it to his master. He watched his master pick up his cup and begin to speak. "Hello, servant." The Master said. "I've been wanting to tell you that, I'm sorry." The servant froze for a moment as he saw the drink in his masters hand. "I shouldn't have made you do all of that hard work for such little pay, here." The master handed the servant double the price of what he deserved and the servant took a drink of water. It tasted bitter, almost as if it wasn't water. That was when he realized that he drank the potion water. The servant's eyes widened and he ran out of the room. "Servant are you okay?! SERVANT?!"
The master shouted as he ran out of the room.
The servant ran back to Damen's castle shuttering in fear. He walked up to Damen's throne shaking rapidly. "I see you are back once again. So, how did the potion work?" Damen said. "I-I-I accidentally drank it." Said the servant in despair. The room was silent for a moment. Then Damen knew what to say. "The potion only works on someone who has mistreated another various times." The servant wiped the dripping sweat from his forehead. He knew from now on not to judge a person so quickly.
