I just broke my TV because...
My laptop was about to fall onto the floor so I reached for it quick, in the process I smashed my TV in the face with my other hand and it fell onto the floor and exploded the screen! (Well it didnt explode, it cracked the screen)
Now it looks real stupid with lines and holes in the screen (it was a 20")
SO now I had to order a 50" tv :@
And another dumb thing is my laptop was falling onto loads of soft clothes AND MY TV DIED FOR NO REASON!

Wow, that's one crazy story. If I had no TV, my life would be over. Pfft, I'm not saying TV is my life, I'm saying that.. okay I'm saying TV is my life. And boy, your laptop got lucky. But your TV, ofc it probably doesn't work anymore.... right? Anyways, that story was just all that. And your title, it made me running to read this.

Oh no! A larger and better television! It must be awful, I don't know how you could get through a week with a 50" tv. But anyways, gl with that. And your life savings? Ouch..

Damn, on the bright side at least your getting a 50'' TV. You got very lucky, and your laptop, since it landed in a pile of soft clothes.

Do you have an warranty for the broken tvs? My laptop was not working unless it was connected and I took it back and got a new one. Don't be breaking your Tv's!(Joke)

Woah. Let me tell you a story.
Okay, so I come home from school, and I find out that my TV doesn't work anymore. The screen only shows colors, no "talking pictures". It had sound, but the screen, only flashed colors all day. So, my dad ordered a huge TV. So huge.
Good luck with your new TV.

Bad luck. I, too, have had problems with my TV, although my one didn't completely break. This is what happened in my case:
I fell with a cup of hot chocolate (Costa), and I spilled a majority of the drink on my TV.
My TV didn't use physical buttons, but a touch-button sort of thing. The hot chocolate reacted with these buttons, and made the TV go crazy for a good few hours, until it randomly stopped (just as I thought that it was a goner).
The TV hasn't had any issues since, but has a mark from when I tried to wipe off the hot chocolate frantically, and pressed a bit too hard on the screen.
