History:
As a kid, whenever I thought of "Balsamic" flavored things like "Balsamic Vinegar," I thought it came from some sort of geographic location. But of course, Balsam isn't a nation nor a geographic location, so I thought it would be fun if I made it an Italian state before unification. This is the map of the State of Balsam at its greatest extent. It's capital is Modena, which is where Balsamic Vinegar was first invented. The nation is best known for its Balsam trees and Balsamic culture. In 1871, it unified with the rest of Italy. Today, it is now a province of the Italian Republic.
