History:
The Federal Republic of Aztlan was founded in 1867 shortly after the Northern Mexican Purchase/Cession. The nation was named after a historical/mythical place that the native Aztecs once lived in, taking place in the country's territory. Formerly the Republic of Texas, it's history dates back to the Texan Revolution. After Mexico was defeated by Texas, Texas became an independent republic. Instead of joining the United States has some texans wanted to do, they wanted to cooperate with the United States in the Mexican-American War. Texas and the United States crushed the Mexicans in Alta California and soon forced them to capitulate. Texas got some of its disputed territory, allowing some of it to be given to the United States in return for the Arizona Territory. Texas began to experience economic growth and furthered it's relations with the United States, Europe and even Mexico overtime. In 1860, the Confederate States seceded from the United States. The CSA offered Texas land in return for it's participation in the war, however, Texas preferred neutrality and continuation of it's relationship with the United States. Texas abolished slavery in it's borders a little before the Emancipation Proclamation in the United States. In 1867, Mexico was losing control of it's northern states and offered to sell them to the Republic of Texas. Texas accepted this deal, and reformed into the Federal Republic of Aztlan. As of 1870, the Federal Republic of Aztlan is one of the strongest powers in North America with a strong military and economy.
