History
Winston Churchill, the Liberal MP decides on a bit of an engineering process that would connect the Unionists in Ulster with the rest of the United Kingdom, expanding rivers along it and the rest of Ireland into something of an Irish channel. The nationalists and ireland took issue with this, but somehow they all mysteriously "disappeared." This eventually led to the construction of the Irish Channel and its use of the land to fill up a landbridge to Ulster.
