Greetings everyone,

I'm making this post to apply for a position that numerous people have recommended me to apply for - OldCP Administrator. This is going to be my formal application for this position. I hope you continue reading and if you do, enjoy the application!

Administrator Application

• I. Basic Information & Introduction
Although many of you already know who I am, I think it would be appropriate to start this application off with some basic information that is essential and an introduction.

• Aspiring rank: OldCP Administrator

Introduction:
For starters... my name is Joseph, I'm 17 years old, I'm a junior in high school and I've been playing OldCP since August 2017. When I'm bored, I typically enjoy spending my time playing video games, watching YouTube, talking to close friends, or spending time with my family. I had found OldCP because I was looking on Google for older versions of Club Penguin that I could check out. Because of doing this, I had found OldCP and my journey into the community began. I had originally joined this community when it was under Rocket and was known as the RCHQ, then quickly adapted to the DSGHQ when this forum was reinstated in December 2018. Upon joining OldCP, I started off as a nobody if I'm going to be honest. I was a bit shy to start talking to people, but that changed when I came out of my shell and began to put myself out there and make some friends. Now, I talk to a lot of amazing people daily and I just want to thank each of them for that. I also want to thank everyone for being them and having their own personality. There's a lot of diversity in this community and I love how everyone has a different story and you can learn so much about them. That's one of the primary assets that made me enjoy being here and that I still enjoy which keeps me here. Meeting a lot of great people helped me learn more about the game and also find ranks that interested me. Ranks were another big reason why I enjoyed the community when I first came across it because I enjoyed learning about what each rank did and it's purpose. As you can all probably tell, I mostly enjoyed the moderating route and spent my time trying to achieve ranks that fit under that category. Proudly, I can say that I achieved this and gained a lot of experience in the moderating and leadership realms with the help of my friends, teachers, colleagues, and you.

• III. Reasonings For Applying
I'm applying for this position for many reasons. To start off, I'll begin with the main reason that I stated above - numerous people have suggested that I apply for this position. When confronted with the idea of applying for OldCP Administrator, I was a bit hesitant at first. I thought that I wouldn't be able to do a good job if I ever got hired and I saw the rank as a bit threatening since it is one of the higher ranks on this platform and it comes with many responsibilities. With having some time to sit and think about this constant request that I kept getting in my ears, I decided that I'd give it a shot and apply for this rank. I decided to go for it because upon looking at all of my experience and time I have in this community, these things all look very good and give me a good chance at obtaining this rank.

Another reason that I'm applying is that I think I'm ready for a challenge. Moderating is something that I've been doing for 2 years (give or take with a 2-month break). Since I've been moderating for so long, I believe that I've mastered all of the skills that come with being a great Moderator. Based on the community itself, I was voted one of the best Moderators on OldCP and achieved more support than all of the current administration, forums staff, OldCP staff, and Penguin Watch Captains. When I say this I'm not saying it to brag, I'm saying it to make a point. The users had the opportunity to have their opinion be seen in a public poll and that was the way the cookie crumbled. I feel as though we should take advantage of these polls being made and use them as a way to see who is doing a good job and who isn't. For people doing a good job, they should get noticed for higher ranks/promotions. Constantly, I have been told that I am one of the best Moderators on OldCP from the user base and that makes me extremely happy when I hear that. So in all, this second reasoning states that I'm applying because I do a tremendous job when it comes to my work now and I have the community behind me when it comes to that. (Thank you, guys

Another reason that I'm applying is that I have experience and I'm trusted. If you take a look back at section II, you can see that I've achieved many ranks on OldCP and other platforms owned by the DSGHQ. Achieving these ranks has helped me learn a lot and become a stronger person within this community. Back in the day when I was a Penguin Watch Captain, that was when I got my first hands-on rank that dealt with leadership. I'd say that as a Penguin Watch Captain I was a pretty good leader, and I enjoyed the job a bunch. Hosting meetings and having a nice group of people was a fun experience and I hold the time I worked with the Penguin Watch in my heart dearly. Another rank that I had that involved leadership was Head Moderator. I was the Head Moderator of OldCP two times, the first time I got it was because I was offered it personally by the administration. I have been told I did a very good job at the rank and many people wanted me to have this position when it reopened. As most of you may know, my demotions from Head Moderator were from an issue that isn't really a big problem anymore, inactivity. I had lost the rank due to inactivity but with everything going on in the world right now, I have contributed a lot of my time to OldCP.

Another reason that I'm applying is because of my maturity level. For my age, I'd say that I am a very mature person and this is a strong quality to have when being an Administrator. This is extremely important because not being mature can hinder your vision and affect the way that you do your job, which isn't a good thing. As an Administrator, I would set any immaturity or bias to the side and be mature about situations, no matter who is involved. By being a staff member for about 2 years, I have become good at doing this which has helped me deal with people breaking rules or people fighting. I'm also a very good listener which has come in handy when communicating with the user base. Lastly, I am applying for OldCP Administrator because I have a lot of great ideas that I'd like to bring to the table. Currently, as a Moderator, I feel as though we have decent communication here and there but when it comes to considering ideas or applying things, that is where the stream of communication starts to run dry. As an Administrator, I would work to fix this underlying issue and do everything I can to assure that our staff is working well together and that our user base is happy with the majority of our staff. I'd do this because I care about the community and I think the voices of staff, and even the users, should be heard more in certain situations. There have been some changes that occurred to OldCP which I'm happy to see, but I have way more ideas that I think would be beneficial to not only the staff team but to the game and our user base as a whole.

I'd also want to use this position as a way to give back to the users and have them more involved in the game so that they don't feel left out of things. At the end of the day, the community is where it is because of the users. We all have played a massive part in this community and have given something special to it. Even without one of us, this community wouldn't be the same. This is why I think users should be more appreciated and we should give back to them by including them in more things and giving them more of a say; it wouldn't hurt.

If I got this position, I'd...

• Put my best ideas and intentions for OldCP first.

• Not abuse my powers and status.

• Work and communicate with other Administrators constantly.

• Get Damen's approval on things.

• Make changes that allow more user involvement.

• Have decisions from applications or promotions be more about quality and who deserves the rank rather than who is applying.

• Get the staff team to become closer than they already are.

• Have user's opinions play a bigger part in decision making.

• Be open to ideas, no matter who suggests them.

• Have strong communication with users and staff.
