Tips on Dealing With Stress - Saber
Stress is everywhere. Stress is always in our lives. "When am I going to have time to complete this assignment?'', "What if I fail and disappoint everyone?", and many more questions like those could be asked when the emotion of stress is affecting someone. Stress can affect how you sleep, how you eat, your behavior, and even your long term health. Often, stress is also caused by what we see in the media. I've been noticing lately that news sites are mostly publishing negative news stories, when there are some positive things happening in the world (even though it doesn't seem like it). I wanted to make a post about talking about how YOU can deal with stress in these difficult times, and some techniques that have worked for me in the past and in the present.
Some ways you can deal with stress:
- make time for your friends and family
- learn a new hobby (I taught myself how to cook LOL)
-meditate or daydream
-eat healthy
-exercise
-go on a walk
-recognize when you need more help, remember you are not alone and there's always numbers you can call or text, depending on what country you're form
-take information breaks (this means taking breaks from things like watching the news, limiting time you spend on social media, etc.)
-reduce your caffeine intake (this one is so hard for me to do BUT I've read about it and it helps)
-keep track of your thoughts in a journal
-do yoga
-sit in the dark (if you're not afraid of the monsters in your closet)
If you ever need someone to talk to, my discord DMs are always open as well. (saber#8943)
In times like these, where the media is bombarded with negative energy, channel that negative energy and think about all the positive things going on. You have people in your life who love you and will always be there for you.
Until next time,
