Greetings,
Message from Senior Captain:
On 10 July 2020, the Penguin Watch team underwent many changes. The team gained a new Senior Penguin Watch Captain and Assistant, and new proposals and actions were implemented on 12 July 2020. The Penguin Watch have been working hard over the past couple of weeks to adjust to these new reforms.
As your new Senior Captain, it is my pleasure to introduce the updated Penguin Watch guide! Most of the information about the organization will be listed in this post. The information in this post is subject to change in the future.
Senior Captain CoffeeCow Guards

Introduction
This rank is for trusted users; users who have substantial amounts of commitment and loyalty to the values of OldCP. The Penguin Watch is for the users who are trusted and are close to becoming an OldCP staff member. Membership here is to prepare (undercover) users to deal with the scenarios that they might face as a moderator. Being undercover means that you have no title and name color; we are to help assist staff when there is none or when they are already occupied with their duties. This rank is not to be abused under no circumstance.
Roles
Requirements
Stations
Stations are bi-weekly reports on Moderators based on multiple factors. According to the Google definition, bi-weekly is defined as “every two weeks or twice a week”. Usually, two stations are given out per month.
Frequently Asked Question
Aren’t stations similar to Moderator appraisals?
Yes, but stations are a bit more in depth. While Moderator appraisals give a general, overall explanation about how the Moderator is doing and how they can improve with short-sentenced tips, stations go a little more in depth and usually include specific scenarios or sometimes screenshots.
Stations consist of two formats starting August 2020. The following description of stations is mentioned below.
The new and improved format for the second half of the stations was created by Layla and approved by both Senior Penguin Watch Captain Coffeecow and Head Moderator Jaden.
Stations not only help the Moderators see what they need to work on, but also provides the Penguin Watch with information on how to be a good Moderator, preparing them to become one in the future. Stations have been a tradition for a very long time in the Penguin Watch, and have helped produce some of the best Moderators. The intentions of stations are not to be taken personally towards the Moderators, but only give them insight on what other people have seen them doing and how to improve from that experience.
Consequences
What happens if these requirements are not followed? There are several courses of action depending on the situation.
You could face demotion, treason or execution, and even permanent expulsion from the team. If a royal from the South (Emperor, Empress or Emperor Helper) pardons you, these consequences will not be applied to you.
The Penguin Watch Oath
Once a Brother, always a Brother.
You are bound by this saying as a member of the Watch. Once you say the oath that is given to you before promotion, you cannot turn back. You are unable to resign from your position, with exception in a few scenarios.
Salary
Members of the Penguin Watch get paid! You have to meet the requirements given previously stated in order to receive payment, though. Salary payments for Penguin Watch Captains are funded by the Imperial Bank, while regular Penguin Watch members are funded by Buddy at the Penguin Watch Bank, and is in no way affiliated with the Imperial Bank. Salaries will be distributed at the end of each month.
Payments:
Senior/Penguin Watch Captain - 8,000/month
Penguin Watch member - 4,000/month
The Imperial Bank needs to save up money in order to pay every other staff member and ranked user at the end of each month. We are assisting the members of the Imperial Bank by not having to spend money if members are not able (or choose not to) meet the salary requirements.
Application Process
If you're curious about applying, these are the specific requirements you need, and also details you should know in order to apply properly.
