This edition of Useless Knowledge is once again about North Korea. I've kind of become a little obsessed with learning more about North Korea. This will be rather brief.

In North Korea, men and woman can only get approved haircuts. Each gender has 15 different haircuts that they can choose from.

Here are the haircuts that women can get:

As you can see, none of approved styles have very long hair, the longest one ends just below the shoulders.

Here are the haircuts that men can get:

Men's choices are not terribly different from one to the next. It is also notable that the style that Kim Jong-Un has is not one of the approved haircuts that men can get.

People who are referred to as "fashion police" have been sent around in North Korea to inspect the people to make sure that they are sporting an approved haircut and clothing. Dyed hair is also not allowed. People who are caught with an unapproved haircut could be subjected to fines or short term imprisonment.
