Not a hate post towards those involved in the Shapiro server, nor anyone who may have popped up frequently whilst the dispute was going on
shapiro seems like a cool guy, renowned journalist at 17 nice. im 17 and i dont even cook and i dont clean but LET ME TELL YOU HOW I GOT THIS RI-
ok
gonna keep it short cos i hate long posts you hate long posts hi thanks for reaching this far i hope youre good
HI CAPTAIN OBVIOUS! hi jake! WHAT BRINGS YOU HERE CAPTAIN OBVIOUS? haha well jake my old pal i've got some obvious commentary to give to everyone! NICE GO AHEAD! ok jake! vvv
over the past few days there've been posts regarding the shapiro group, a discord server that from what ive seen is a group of chill people that talk about their lives - chill right? but theyve come under the scope because a few of their members were breaking a forums rule that involves spam disliking.
-CASUALLY DUMPS CAPTAIN OBVIOUS INTO A RIVER-
i'll take it from here now
whilst the forums mods followed procedure to stop the users that broke rules, some were mistreated and i understand that sparked outrage - well why wouldnt it? thankfully thats sorted and i'd like to think the whole dispute is sorted
even though the issue seems done and dusted i think we all have our thoughts on the matter and that we are still somewhat disagreeing with eachother, let me try help resolve some of that by giving my view on the issue
whilst im not involved in shapiro or the staff team, i think its fair to say theres no bias here
the shapiro group seems like a nice bunch of people. they seem like a nice group of friends who discuss normal things. like one member said, there's a small handful that ruin the server's image. in my opinion, i both sympathise with and disagree with members coming out and saying it isn't fair for their server to be frowned upon because of the 4 or 5 people who don't do it justice
in terms of sympathising, it does suck because a majority of the grou are now under the spotlight for doing nothing wrong
in terms of disagreeing, those rulebreakers were dealt with but to my understanding kept going, so its obvious that the group would have a bad image for this. none of us outside the group know if theres discussions in the server to deal with the rulebreakers, but i for one hope there are because the group doesnt deserve being hated at as a whole, but im sure they know to take some extent of collective responsibility for the small handfull that didnt comply with forums rules
so basically lets all settle down because it has been dealt with, im sure shapiro are sorting it out amongst eachother, and im sure the staff are too.
if they aren't, we should all be confident that both parties are taking the fiasco as a lesson to learn
also, i dont think we should be separating them from the community as their own "shapiro group" because thats just the name of the server. whether you like it or not, theyre apart of the community, some of them longer than you and some of them shorter. so remind yourself that they are on the same boat as us and should be treated as if they are.
thanks to the staff for handling the situation as best as they could
thanks to the rest of the Shapiro discord server for not causing anymore issues
i feel like we should all move on now
i'd like to hear from the staff and Shapiro discord members about how theyve felt and how well they believe i've helped contribute towards burying the hatchet on this drama.
and to anyone else - everyone in fact - who does reply, please refrain from breaching dsghq guidelines cos i for one want this forums post to be a symbol of the community as a whole able to work together to put things right again
if youve made it to this point, reply with what you have taken from this post and i'll give you 1000 gold on oldcp lol
thanks for listening to my ted talk
