I still believe that the old system of warfare was better than the current one. It may have been simpler and more informal, but at least it was more dynamic and made wars actually happen. The respective king or queen of the island was forced to defend. Now those who defend only try to postpone wars and look for excuses not to do so.
At least in my personal experience this has been the case. I have tried to declare war on some kingdom or island and it always ends in the same thing, or the other person never signs the contract, or signs it and changes the date to much later in order to save himself. The worst thing is that most of the time they don't even play the game or try to do anything to improve their kingdoms.
In my opinion, the war system should be changed. It may not be the right thing to go back to the old system but they should try to merge the two systems to make it work better. It is a matter of seeing the history of wars in forums, 80% of the wars are not even signed.
And I would happily suggest stuff if the people and admins want to change it.

The current limit for refusing reasonable war contracts is 3. After 3 attempts to have a war signed, it can be force signed. Is 3 too many times in your opinion?

That’s exactly what I’m saying, look the amount of times they have tried to declare war to the Fire Empire but still hasn’t happened. And also, what about the delays, what if I want to war next week but the other person says he/she only can in 2 months?
It’s way to much time of waiting for a simple war.
People have taken advantage of it and also with the description of what is legal and what no.

honestly getting on the game and saying you were declaring war with a bunch of people was so dramatic and fun lol. But yeah I think the amount of times they can postpone should be like...1. Give a date, and if you aren't available for that date then bye.

The problem with the old war system was... it was very open to spawn killing, confusion with the terms, sometimes one side couldn't make it online to defend themselves and because nothing was written down, it was always ending in arguments over rules and who actually won
The contract system puts things down in writing which really helps to get final decisions made and is fair for both sides
It's disadvantage is that it winds up being like a legal proceeding which takes ages, which I think is good in a way because it means winning a land takes a real effort
It's a bit less dramatic tho
