hey guys! as of late I’ve been really struggling with my mental health; I’ve been struggling with anxiety and depression to be specific. however, I’ve been learning a lot of cool coping skills, so I decided I’d share some with you all today.

DISCLAIMER: these won’t work for everyone, they are just what work for me <3

Square breathing
—> breathe in for 4 secs, hold for 4, breathe for 4, hold for 4, and so on. this generally helps reduce anxiety.

The TIP skill
-TIP stands for Temperature (e.x. take an ice bath), Intense exercise (self-explanatory), and Paced breathing (square breathing for example). this skill is really helpful for de-escalation and such.

DBT- dialectical behavioral therapy
-DBT is a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy that helps with thinking errors and depression and anxiety in general. here's a link to an article about DBT: https://www.verywellmind.com/dialectical-behavior-therapy-1067402

The last time I used a hotline, it was to drop my toaster into my ex-wife's bathtub.
