In Baraddur, Amir, Loki, Tasha, and Zes are hidden in Silence's office.

Silence: What do you four want? Weren't there five of you before?
Tasha: There were actually six of us and Zes wasn't one of them.
Loki: We are here to hide out until Pythas forgets about looking for us.
Silence: You're a patient, why aren't you in bed?
Loki: Didn't you want to kick me out earlier?
Silence: Of course not! I'm a good doctor!
Loki (interrupting): You're not-
Amir: Wife.
Silence (continuing): I would never release a patient who was not well enough recovered!
Loki (interrupting): I am not staying here again.
Amir (warningly): Wife.
Silence: Do as I say or you will have to find a new doctor, which a woman in your condition should not be doing!
Loki (mumbling): That wouldn't be so bad. What's even so wrong with my condition, barely even a scratch at this point.
Amir: Just do as he says.
Tasha: Please just do what he wants. I really don't want to be thrown out a window just because you're being stubborn.
Loki: Fine. I wonder where Pic is, she would take my side.
Pic enters the room with Lord Law
Pic: No she wouldn't.
Silence (annoyed): Visiting hours are over. Everyone who isn't a patient or family of one must leave.
Pic: I'm not leaving! I just got here!
Silence: You are not a patient nor are you family of a patient. You must leave.
Pic: Oops! I just umm...
Pic quickly punches Zes in the nose. Zes yells in pain.
Pic: I hurt my hand on Zes's nose!
Silence quickly looks over Pic's hand.
Silence: Mhm looks like a sprain.
Silence starts tending to Pic's hand.
Zes: Hello?? What about my nose??
Silence (not bothering to look at Zes): What's wrong with it?
Zes: Its bleeding? I think Pic broke it!
Silence: You must wait to be seen until after I'm done tending to this lady. Take a seat.
Zes (muttering): I would have been better off staying with Manwe.

Manwe, Varda, and Eonwe have arrived on AchTo after escaping from Baraddur. Manwe and Varda are glad to see that their daughter is alright. Eonwe feels embarrassed about everything that has transpired. Little is happy to see her parents and Eonwe arrive back safely, momentarily forgetting about what the eagle warned them of.

Little: Mom! Dad! I'm so glad you're back. Is Eonwe okay?
Varda: He is perfectly fine thanks to the potion we made.
Little: Where is Khamul?
Manwe: We left that dumb wraith on Das where he belongs. He took Pythas' side in the fight. He can stay there.
Little: There was a fight? What happened? Where is Zes? DID HE DIE?
Manwe: It was only a minor scuffle. I don't know what happened to Zes and I don't reckon that I care either.
Little looks shocked.
Varda (soothingly): I'm sure Zes is fine. I'm sure I saw him sneak out before the fight really got bad...
Manwe: I hope he's suffering wherever he is. How dare he bring Eonwe into danger like that.
Eonwe turns red with shame and embarrassment at the mention of his name.
Glarthir: Manwe, sir, while you were gone an eagle came from the south bringing news.
Manwe: What did it say?
Glarthir: Eiven has been assassinated and the Forest is declaring war on the South tomorrow after the funeral.
Manwe: What? How did it happen?
Glarthir: Poisoned by Ayancito.
Manwe (quiet disbelief): The protector of my daughter... dead....

Back at the jail, Foxel hears a knock on his door. He is waiting for an update about Operation Kill Zen.

Foxel: Come in.
Dan enters the room.
Foxel: Oh, its you. Have you heard anything about the mission?
Dan: No... shouldn't your uncle be back by now?
Foxel: Why would he come here? It would be stupid to murder someone and willingly bring yourself to jail afterwards.
Dan: I just thought that perhaps this is taking a bit long.
Foxel: And that's why I'm the warden and you're just a guard.
Dan: Hm...
There is another knock on the door.
Foxel: Come in.
In walks Ronaldo.
Foxel: Yes? What is it?
Ronaldo: I've been sent from the morgue...
Foxel: Oh?
Ronaldo: Its...
Foxel: Zen didn't die did she? She looked pretty back when she was taken to the hospital.
Ronaldo: No, its not Zen. She is doing fine. Its...
Foxel: Spit it out boy.
Ronaldo: Your uncle. He's dead.
Foxel: WHAT?
Dan (mumbling): I said it was a bad idea.
Foxel: Flame is dead!? How!?
Ronaldo: No one knows who did it. He was just found dead in Zen's hospital room.
Foxel: Did anyone check the surveillance tapes?
Ronaldo: How would I know? I just make tombstones for a living. Would you like marble, granite, or limestone?
Foxel: I think I would like a moment to myself... Leave me... both of you....
Foxel sits down, defeated. Dan and Ronaldo leave the room.
Dan: I thought Aule taught you how to craft buildings, why are you making tombstones?
Ronaldo: Aule didn't want to teach me more than engraving. He was worried I might be a better builder than him.
