Twitter lit up this week with rumors that the popular Nickelodeon cartoon series SpongeBob Squarepants would be canceled in early 2014. The hashtag #SaveSpongebob briefly trended, prompting the television network to directly respond to the rumor.

Spongebob is not being canceled.

Nickelodeon confirmed in a tweet on December 11 that the #SaveSpongebob campaign was “Nothing more than a hoax.” The network also confirmed that “We’ve got new episodes in 2014 and the movie coming out 2015.”

Honestly, spongebob ending would be perfectly fine with me. The series has grown old and I believe they need to let the series go, but of course they would never do that as they probably make some good money off the series.

If that actually happened, I would commit suicide, I started watching it when I was 1. Plus, the spongebob squarepants movie 2 is coming out in November 2014. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
