i woke up at 4:20 am.

i walked down to watch some tv, but...

for some reason...

uh..

adele, my ex, was sitting on my couch.

don't ask.

"hello, it's me". i whispered

"i was wondering if after all these years you'd like to meet.", adele whispered back.

"to go over everything?" i asked.

"they say that time's supposed to heal ya," adele said, changing the subject of our late-night conversation.

"but have you done much healing?" i replied

"no." she said.

i stayed silent, since i had no idea what to say.

"hello? can you hear me?" adele said, changing her tone of voice from whispering to talking.

"yes, we're in california dreaming about who we used to be" i said, also speaking in a loud tone of voice.

"when we were younger and free?" adele said, in a somewhat sad voice.

"yeah, i've forgotten how it felt before the world fell at our feet." i whispered, with tears in my eyes.

"there's such a difference between us." she cried.

then adele walked out of the room, then out the front door, and drove off.

"and a million miles..." i whispered.

then i got a phone call.

it was from adele.

i answered it.

"HELLO FROM THE OTHER SIDE" she yelled.

"you must have called a thousand times!" i replied, in a loud voice..

"TO TELL YOU I'M SORRY, FOR BREAKING YOUR HEART!" adele replied, still yelling.

"BUT WHEN YOU CALL, YOU NEVER SEEM TO BE HOME!" i shouted.

and then i hung up, removing her from my contacts list on my phone.
