Update on XAT Chats
•
26th April 2015, 09:07 PM
Hi everyone,
It's come to my attention that some private Xat chats are being made and things are happening on these chats that aren't particularly friendly. I'm not able to monitor each chat at all times because I'm busy watching the official one. Because of this, I'm also unable to punish fairly as I don't have the entire story.
For the time being, you are no longer allowed to advertise your own Xat chats on the DSGHQ forums, chat, or on OldCP.
This being said, visit private Xat chats at your own risk, as I cannot watch over every chat at all times. Use our official DSGHQ chat ( http://xat.com/DSGHQ/ ) for chatting so I can make sure each of you are safe.
Cheers.

Username: Chelsey
Experience w/ Blogging: In the past, I've been a "CP cheats" blogger. I was an author+ on about 4 blogs, all of which had active communities and consistent posting. I'm now the main editor for my school's yearbook and I'm very talented in the field of journalism, creative writing, and editing.
Experience w/ Moderation: I've been staff on DSGHQ for over three years now and administrator for the majority of that timespan. I know everything about the DSGHQ.
Age: 15
Time zone: EST
Email: [email protected]
How many times per week can you post?: It would vary depending on the number of OldCP events and my schedule, though I can make positive adjustments to the blog daily (edit pages, proofread other posts, etc.)
Why do you want to be a blogger?: Through experience and practice, I've proven to have the ability to write posts on specific topics as entertaining to read, yet informing and professional in terms of format and content. I'm able to work on pages as well as posts, making them well organized, pleasing to the eye, and useful. I'd love to help OldCPDaily reach its full potential as the official OldCP blog. I can assure you I'd be a very important asset to your team.

The Hate on Moderators
•

This whole, "old moderators shouldn't be repromoted," thing is all about perspective. We need to take account of everyone's feelings, not just the higher ranked users'. I understand Bailey and Ellie might feel a bit upset over some things specific users have said, but do keep in mind that most users only say things like that because they're upset, too. A lot of people are working hard to earn moderator and it doesn't seem fair when people are promoted simply for earning moderator in the past and wishing their rank back.
Maybe things get a bit overwhelming or maybe some moderators just get bored of their rank, but that's something you need to fight through, not ditch and return when the rank seems appealing again. I understand the whole concept of wanting committed moderators in this situation and I completely agree.
Regardless, Bailey and Ellie are good moderators and they should stay. I just feel like they're not seeing opinions the way they should. No one is against them, they're against repromotion and are recommending to not take action like that in the future.
On another note, I'd love to see some fresh, new usernames below the game. That doesn't mean we need to rid the old ones.

Hey Chelsey!
This sounds really fun! I will be glad to be there, as my family accepts me to be here! But, I've got a question!
May I create team Fnaf? And if it's in the office, it would be in red chairs! Thanks! Keep me updated with any available positions: I'm willing to do anything Chelsey.

Also, how do you become an official DJ?

To become an official radio DJ, you must go through training via Damen and you must be a trusted user.

**UPDATE: TIME CHANGED TO 3PM EST**
Easter is here! To celebrate, Princess Dancebear and I have organized a Spring Scavenger Hunt for all of OldCP to participate in.
During the event, you will all find a small group of penguins to work with. Princess Dancebear and I will give you a riddle.
With this riddle, you will determine which item around the island we're talking about and you will set out to find it with your team. Once you've all found it, have your team captain come back for the next riddle! You must tell us what the item was and where you found it in order to receive the riddle for the next one.
The first team to find all 10 items wins. What's the reward, you ask? The team captain will receive the "Expert Hunter" title for a week!
This event will take place on Easter, April 5, at4PM 3PM EST in the office.
So, off you go! Form your teams and prepare for the hunt.
**If an official radio DJ is willing to have an upbeat, happy radio show for the event, please contact me with a list of songs or plan ready.

Snowball Spamming
•
3rd April 2015, 11:50 PM
As I've seen lately, many users have been infuriated over the so-called unfair arrests and bans assigned to their OldCP account for the reason of, "spamming snowballs." This has created conflict and many users have refused to listen to staff members regarding this rule.
Let me remind you: This is a rule.
If you claim to have just "thrown snowballs" and not spammed them, let's put this to statistics:
If you throw more than 4 snowballs in a row, it's spamming.
Obviously the rule does not apply on the snowball fight server, White Out. However, on Blizzard, this is a popular offense and if you are banned or arrested for spamming snowballs, it's completely fair and the staff member taking action is doing their job properly.
Please follow the rules. Thank you.

My absolute favorite out of every application I've ever read. I wish you the best of luck at achieving moderator. You definitely deserve it.
