Posted in Your Opinion On Club Penguin Armies • 25th October 2013, 11:25 PM

Hi everyone. So when I log on to the chat, a lot of the time I notice many people that are in Club Penguin armies. Many people know about Club Penguin armies, and most who know about them are in one, or have been in one. I personally led one that reached all the way to first in the top ten army list 5 times! However I've since retired, but if you still want to join there name was Army of the Republic. But that is besides the point.

For as many people I see that are interested in Club Penguin armies, I also see people that dislike armies. Armies have been around forever, (since 2006) longer than CPPS's even. But from what I've noticed its split almost 50/50 in the Club Penguin community between people who like, and people who dislike armies. So I want to get a well based opinion from some of you guys seeing as OldCP's popularity has been rapidly increasing!

It's funny because the whole idea of Club Penguin came off of big Snow Ball battles, which have recently been included on OldCP on the server White Out! So in a way, it may not be long until OldCP starts to have miniature armies form within our CPPS. That would be pretty cool. But, back to the main point, let me know what you think about armies. What armies you are in. What armies you have been in. Or, if you don't like armies, why? I'd love to hear from all of you! Thanks for reading. Bye! :)

Posted in Strategies For Snow Ball Matches • 22nd October 2013, 07:17 PM

Hi guys! So the new Snowball game was added to OldCP and this game is a hit. I really enjoy it to, since it gives people more to do than just talk and enjoy Club Penguin as it use to be. However, I have noticed that there seems to always be two types of people on the game. The first type, are people who really know what they are doing and constantly in competition for winning the match, which is great! However, the other half are people who are lucky if they get a kill at all in a game. So I want to help those people out, so we can all enjoy the fun and make the game a bit more competitive. Read on!

1.) This one is arguably the most important, but instead of pressing the Snow Ball icon on the chat bar, make sure you're cursor isn't in the typing bar and press T on your keyboard. T is the button for throwing Snow Balls, and as soon as you press it the Snow Ball scope comes up. This allows you to throw Snow Balls and move around faster at the same time.

2.) Never spam the Snow Ball while pressing T. Only every few Snow Balls get registered, even if you hit the guy a million times. Only Spam it if you are on very few lives and close to a kill, otherwise press a few every few seconds, to increase accuracy and also allow you to move around more.

3.) NEVER stand still for more than 5 seconds. When you stand still, you make yourself an easy target for other players to hit you. It's much harder to hit a moving penguin, than one who is just standing there, throwing Snowballs at another penguin. I always either throw on the run while pressing T, or stop for around 3 seconds, throw maybe 5 or more Snow Balls, then run. Make sure you run around even more when you are low on lives.

4.) Don't wait in rooms no one is fighting in. The Town and Plaza are easily the best places to get a lot of action. If you wait in rooms no one is coming in, you won't get any kills, and have no chance of winning the match. Always try your best to get to one of the popular rooms so you can get as many kills as possible. Remember, it's okay if you die and have to respawn.

5.) Know who you are competing with. If you are doing really well in a match, odds are there is someone you are either right behind, or is right behind your tail. If that's the case, then make sure you don't let them kill you, because then you've put yourself at a really big disadvantage. If you are about to die, and one of the people who also has a good shot at winning is about to kill you, flee as fast as possible.

6.) Avoid dying by glitches. Many of you have experienced the glitch where you can't move all of a sudden. Well, if you aren't moving you are an easy target as we talked about before. So if you find yourself stuck, press the map and go to an unpopulated room as quickly as possible. Then the glitch will be fixed, and you can return to the game.

7.) When you enter a room, move away from the spawn point as fast as possible. Whenever you enter a room such as the town, you automatically spawn in the middle. A lot of times there will be one person constantly spraying Snow Balls at that one particular spot because people go straight there and can't go anywhere else for a few seconds. Make sure you try to give up as few lives as possible by moving quickly.

8.) Join a good team. If you are a beginner, don't be a one man army. Although there are more people to kill, you also have no one support you when you are low on lives or need to finish off a high leveling player. If you don't know how to join a team, all you do is type this into the typing bar: "/js "Team Name" (NOTE: Some teams require a password to be entered)

9.) Aim for people with lower live counts. Only kills count in the end, so don't try and go after someone who has 20 lives, over someone who has 3. The less lives, the better chance you have of killing him.

10.) Don't "over hide." A common theme I see among players, is they will attempt to find a corner where they are covered up and can try and hide. Well, everyone knows piles of snow and trees don't throw Snow Balls so they are going to catch up pretty fast and begin firing. This is a very bad position to be in, because a lot of the time when you are hiding, more than one person is going to take aim at you and with you being such an easy target, it could be twice the lives lost.

11.) Don't join too big of a team. You don't want to join a team that is 2/3rds of the server, because even though you have a lot of support now, you have hardly anyone to kill and you find yourself competing against your teammates which you want to avoid if possible.

12.) Have fun and remember it's just a game! Don't let one bad game get to you! Just enjoy yourself and move on to the next round. Make the good moments count, and try to avoid rage if at all possible.

Of course there are more tips that I forgot to mention so...
PLEASE LEAVE A REPLY WITH ANY THING YOU FEEL BEGINNERS MAY WANT TO KNOW! THANKS! :D

Posted in Can You Spot Burr? • 17th October 2013, 08:28 PM

Hey guys! So I was bored and decided, why not have a bit of fun? I thought of a pretty old and popular contest people use to do way back on all sorts of Club Penguin blogs and other things, and since this is OldCP, I should too! :D The contest is simple. Here's what you need to do.

I will be posting pictures below of my penguin in different spots. Your goal is to try and name the room I'm in. Now, here is where it gets tricky. In some pictures I may cut off some of my penguin or some of the room in order to make it harder to guess. The pictures will get progressively harder to guess as you go along. Who ever guesses them all right first, or is the closest to guessing them all right after 3 days wins! Leave your answers in the reply section below. Good luck!

1.)

2.)

3.)

4.)

5.)

6.)

7.)

8.)

9.) (HARD!)

10.)

Once again, I wish you all good luck! Really sorry for the bad quality, my computer was lagging badly for some reason so I had to press the "+" button. That reduces lag if you didn't know. :P I look forward to seeing all of your answers. Waddle on.

Posted in What The Chat Is For • 16th October 2013, 07:05 PM

I see a lot of people on OldCP ask what the purpose of the chat is, when you can just talk on OldCP. Well, here I'm going to explain what I've discovered the chat to be useful for. So read on to learn how to properly use the chat.

1.) To contact people not in the specific room you in. Sometimes when you log on, you may want to meet someone on the game, but you aren't sure if they are online, and you don't have them added on OldCP. Assuming they have an account on Xat (The server which hosts OldCP), or have changed their name so others can identify them, this will let you know if they are on the game or not, since the chat is embedded to the game. *Note* Just because you don't see their specific username doesn't mean they aren't online. They may just not be registered and have an auto-name. If you do see them, you can talk to them on the main chat, or you can click them and press private chat to discuss with them privately so you can meet up with them on the game and chat from there.

2.) You can contact moderators/administrators directly. Sometimes when you're having a problem, or want to report someone for breaking the rules or disturbing you, the response won't be automatic and you find yourself having to wait to get the problem solved. If you scroll down on the chat, all the people with gold or white pawns, are moderators or admins. If you say their name on main, or private chat them and tell them your problem, this may help you solve your problem quicker.

3.) You can talk with friends, without having to be on the game. Sometimes when you don't feel like talking over other people's messages, or enduring lag, or just want to get off the game, you can talk over the chat instead. Simple, and probably not as fun, but still effective!

There are probably more uses of the chat, and the more you are on it the more interesting things you may find out about, but I think I highlighted the main points. Hope you enjoy! :)
