Hmmmm, I love dogs! And cats! We take care of the stray dogs that live in our building! We also took care of a stray cat, and was about to adopt him but someone else in the building beat us to it (he shortly passed away from a tumor- r.i.p mr. mouse) I also have a dog named Maximus :0 He's really cute
Here's a picture of Mr. Mouse and Maxi

at this point, it's repetitive, so obviously it's not the end

"The end of an era" was said in 2019 during Dagor Dagorath but it was definitely not the end. Fun times :C

Posted in Earth Day • 22nd April 2022, 05:51 AM

Everyday is Earth day, but today is the one day of the year that the entire world recognizes the environmental impact humans had/have on our planet.

Here are things you can do to lead a sustainable lifestyle:
○ Practice conservation,
- Of water, of electricity, of energy,
- Change to LED lights (not just the light strips, but light bulbs as well!),
○ Plant trees,
○ Cut down on your meat intake. There are plenty of alternatives for meat to make sure you still get the nutrients you need.
○ Stop wasting food,
○ Change travel habits; whether thats taking the bus or a bike instead of your car, traveling less, and changing your routes when driving to more direct routes,
○ Buy locally grown products,
○ Start composting! Here's a link with further detail: https://www.conserve-energy-future.com/composting.php
○ Practice the 3 R's (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle),
○ Buy recycled products,
○ Go thrifting,
○ Donate your clothes instead of throwing them away,
○ Reduce plastic use,
○ Don't litter,
○ Protect wildlife,
○ Delete all unwanted emails and don't leave any unread,
○ & last but not least, educate others.

Our school just hosted a week's worth of activities, planned by two environmental groups built by students (Green Team, HS & Eco Eagles, ES). Together, we hosted an ECO fair where we had guest speakers from sustainable businesses as well as a market so they can sell their products, or inform others about their business. We also had a student led thrift store. The way that worked is that students from our school donated clothes to Green Team and Green Team then opened a one-day-only thrift store, so others, including staff members, can buy clothing second hand for really cheap (equivalent prices to a minimum $1 per clothing item). This way, we are not only protecting our environment by not wasting clothing, but we also gave back to those who really needed it.
- The HS Team then organized a dunk tank event the next day, where students had to bid on teachers in order for them to be dunked in the water.

This past week or two, Tik Tok as a community also allowed people to discover ways to be eco-friendly whilst online. My personal favorites are the Chrome extensions Ecosia & Tab for a Cause. Ecosia is a search engine that plants a tree for every search you make. So far, Ecosia is set to plant 150 million trees, and the numbers will only go up.

Screen shot from Ecosia home page:

Excuse the highlighted words, they mean "alternative" & "income" when translated to English.

Tab for a Cause is a similar concept to Ecosia, the only difference is, Tab for a Cause lets you raise money by simply opening a new tab (you have to let the tab fully load in though). Each new tab = one American penny. Currently, Tab for a Cause has raised nearly $1.4 million dollars. You can also donate hearts (one heart = 1 tab) to different organizations & charities. Money paid for ads also goes towards this cause, which is why you will find so many ads on your new tab page.

You can click this link to get started: https://tab.gladly.io/?u=rachelsnotgreen

This is a screenshot of the new tab page:

Leading a sustainable life will not only positively impact the environment and the your way of life, but also your childrens'.
