I think talk to your friend about it and figure out a solution that will make you not lie but make her not seem like she is lying.
also its not the end of the world you left the room without asking I personally think ur school needs to chill but I mean there isnt much u can do about that

i mean they probably act the way they do because they probably thought i ran out of school or was hiding somewhere lol. and if i got lost they would be responsible for that. they want to know where everyone is at all times. i can see why their reaction is the way it is, but i do also think it’s a little unnecessary to punish us for it.

That’s quite the problem you’ve got there.
Honestly, go into the office with a calm approach and talk it through. Don’t be all rash, trying to cover your friend and yourself with more lies, talking yourself out of any punishments with an aggressive tone. Just come clean. Yes, you lied, but you’re apologetic about it, right? You were only accompanying your friend, that’s a simple, harmless thing - you know? Apologise for the lies you made up, but explain how you were only walking with a friend and then waiting for your grade of bussers to walk by and join in the name of conveniency. If the people at the office are a bit too harsh, just take the punishment. Your friend too, because she’d understand that being honest is really the only way to get out this mess. And if she doesn’t, you need to have a sit down with her and talk through all of this.

I didn't really know what category to put this under, but this is about a friend irl. If you don't want to continue reading, ok.
So basically at the end of the school day we have a thing called "advisor." It's basically where you go to a classroom for 5-10 minutes and wait to get dismissed over the announcements. They usually call the 6th graders first, the 7th graders, and then the 8th graders. My teacher walks the line of 8th grade bussers outside to the doors.
To the point, at the beginning of advisor, my friend asked me to walk with her to the office so she could return a chromebook that she borrowed for the day, because her personal chromebook had died. I should have said no, because I know my teacher hates when I leave the room without asking or telling anyone where I'm going. I knew she would say no to me going upstairs with the friend too, because she probably thinks we would do something stupid. So I went to the office with my friend, and she returned her chromebook to the secretary. I waited outside the office so I wouldn't get in trouble for just being in there for no reason. We started walking back and my friend asked if I wanted to sit on the bench in the hall and just wait for the 8th grade line to walk by and we could just join in the line so we didn't have to go all the way downstairs and back upstairs again. I said sure, because it would give us time to just sit and talk.
The 6th graders were called, the 7th graders were called, and then the 8th graders were called. Two teachers were walking the line down this time, and they both came over to me and my friend and asked what we were doing and why we weren't in advisor. We said we were putting chromebooks away and when we were walking back the 6th graders were being called, so we were just gonna wait for the 8th graders to walk by. Which is sort of a lie because the 6th graders hadn't been called yet.
We had been sitting on the bench for about 5 minutes. I lied and said that I was putting my chromebook away too because my friend actually had a chromebook but I didn't. My math teacher, which was the one asking these questions, claimed that "I signed out in advisor to go the bathroom." Which I didn't. I didn't even step in the room, actually. So I said my chromebook died in free period, which is right before last period, which was math for me. My math teacher then got mad at me because we don't really use chromebooks in math, and I lied again and said "I brought it just in case."
I wasn't really lying here because I was trying not to get trouble, I was lying because I didn't want my friend to get in trouble. Which was a bad idea because I think they figured out that I was lying. There's a chromebook sign out sheet, which they probably checked after I left school. My math teacher said that if it happened again I would get a lunch detention. I said ok, and left.
My friend had an after school activity that day, so she was there when I wasn't. She said she got called to the office and the assistant principal talked to her about it. My friend probably made up some bizarre lie, and left school.
When my friend got home, she texted me saying that I might get called up to the office tomorrow. At this point, I'm freaking out because I've never gotten sent to the office in the 3 years I've been to the school. I'm not a bad kid over all, and I feel like I should come clean about the whole thing.
But now my friend is saying that I can't tell the truth because she'll get in even more trouble than she already is. I can't lie anymore, because It'll get me in even more trouble when they find out that I'm lying. If that makes any sense at all.
What should I do? I'm very tempted to tell the truth, but I don't want my friend to be mad at me.

this isnt really SCARY, but i was on vacation at the beach in a place called Marshfield, and my family was eating outside at a restaurant. My great grandmother had a really distinct smell and it was really strong, like a lavender sort of smell. As I was taking a bite of my DELICIOUS vegan hot dog, I smelled my great grandmother. It was nobody around me, we were alone outside, just my family. Later that night I heard the news that my great grandmother passed away. I never really met her, but that one time I did she smelled just like what I smelt that day. I feel like it was her way of checking in on me before she passed. idk i just think its cool
