Suggestion: New Rules for Bullying/Drama
•
23rd May 2015, 08:59 AM
I have been thinking, and there should definitely be some new rules on bullying and drama, because it has been happening a lot lately, and it needs to be dealt with at some point for real.
Suggestions for new rules on Xat for Bullying/Drama
Suggestions for new rules on the Forums
The forums is where it mainly happens, and it should be put to an end, so new rules for it would be way better. Although we have rules and ways to deal with people causing drama, there should be specific rules.
Anyways, I am not sure if all of these would exactly help, but they could be decent to the forums and other applications for the dsghq. Thanks for reading.
Suggestions for new rules on Xat for Bullying/Drama
- If you cause drama with another person, you are banned from the chat for 3 hours.
- If you bully someone, severely, then an owner will ban you for 24 hours.
- If you hurt someone's feelings on purpose, like be rude to them, or make fun of a person, you will be banned for 2 hours.
Suggestions for new rules on the Forums
The forums is where it mainly happens, and it should be put to an end, so new rules for it would be way better. Although we have rules and ways to deal with people causing drama, there should be specific rules.
- If you cause drama with another person, which can include anything that would be going on and off, then the person majorly causing the drama will be suspended for 2 weeks, and anyone who participated majorly, like if this were between 2 or 3 people or even more, than they could be suspended for up to a week, depending.
- If you are hurtful in any way to another user, you will be suspended for a day.
- It will not matter what you have done, but if you participate in bullying in another person, you will be suspended for 3 days.
- If a certain person has been has been warned 3 times from causing drama, they will be suspended for a week. If they do that twice more, they will be banned forever, because they did not ever learn their lesson from past experience.
Anyways, I am not sure if all of these would exactly help, but they could be decent to the forums and other applications for the dsghq. Thanks for reading.

How indeed amazing. Look at them, just.. being the boss skeletons they are. They will probably rule the world because they have hollow bodies, and don't have time to become fat or eat. Great work so far.

Roberto thinks that they should be given chances. This has happened multiple times with army members and new people that he brought. they are treated like any other user. I agree that they should read the rules and it is Rob's fault for not telling them about actual rules. It matters truly because everyone should be treated the same, and no matter who they are, what rank they have, or when they joined. You have the responsibility to look at rules before cussing/spamming, etc. Roberto always defends himself, but I just think he gets his way always. Even so, I believe that he tries to give us a good time and tries to help us, but what I think is that he is corrupting us all.

No Tolerance Policy

19th May 2015, 04:59 PM
I see that you may decrease the time each week, but I strongly disagree with this policy for many many reasons.
First of all, I see that we have time for moderating, but the thing is, we are not ensured to being 3 hours and 20 minutes a day. (I see that you may decrease the times) Even so, this whole idea is crazy. You are pretty much forcing the moderators that were HIRED for a reason to be on whenever possible. The reason is, people are in school at different times, so someone could start summer in like 2 months, but that's not all. Some people cannot come because it is unhealthy. We can only be on so much, because it hurts some people when being on too long. Also, we all have parents, and are all kids, that means that our parents will usually give us an amount of time we can be on. If we as mods and future mods have to follow this policy, I agree that administrators should have one similar, like 6-12 hours a week, because after all, they are the same as us, and will probably have as much time on their hands as we do. Also, this is summer. Are you actually forcing people to get on if they do not want to? I mean, we might be playing other games, spending time with family, but that is not the point. We all have events and special times, and we may be inactive for a certain period of time due to sports, family, etc. I get that you'd understand, but everyone is busy, and when there are new moderators, you will force this policy on them too.
I would like to see you and even some of the other administrators to get on as long as we do. You cannot simply put a label on someone if you have not tested it out. What I am saying is that you never tried this out. You should have done this a week before, and seen how long each of the mods get on. You can figure out an average, and see how much they would do compared to the next week because it is only fair if you know before taking any actions. This is not a good policy, because we should have to be on a certain amount of hours, we should be being responsible, not slacking off, and there should be a policy to make sure that moderators do their jobs in the certain amount of time they have, not how long they can be on. You see, If you continue this with 24 hours a week, most moderators may not want to come on after their 3 and a half hours, and it is almost impossible to catch up with in the later time that we have. Do whatever you want, but when you have like 10 moderators online, with like 2 doing their job and the other half texting, on xat, forums, etc, it will not be so effective will it?
With testing it out, you should have looked at the pattern for a month, yes, a month. You should have noticed a pattern if the moderators were active or not. Damen said we don't have to spend all our time here, and this seems like you are forcing us to if we want to keep our ranks. Some of us only come on at spare time, and with that spare time, we must always be alert and never play around for 3 and a half hours? Seems unfair. I believe this should be taken away, or you should temporarily take it away to test it. We need to know what we can do, not what we are forced to do. Anyways, this is not a good idea, with our time, we should be able to have fun, do what we want, within our time limit. There are so many components that you didn't think about before making this. I believe it is a good plan to do this, but it is horrible with the circumstances you are making. I believe you should temporarily REMOVE this whole thing, and see how long we each get on. Also, you guys as admins should join in too, seeing how tough our jobs really are, because we were all moderators at some point, talking to the administrators and moderators. Finally, you should realize what moderators are doing, and not slacking off, because there could be many moderators, but they cannot always get on, or they slack off with their time. Many have school when others are off, and it is the other way around. You are very busy I see, but you make it way to hard to have rules when YOU don't even FOLLOW your OWN rules. You can take some time off from whatever you do to join in and partake in playing, not on xat, but on oldcp also. I believe this has many flaws, it it should be fixed. You are just making all the good moderators that were hired be forced to spend all their time here even though you can't do the same. Change it, this is horrible if you don't change it.
Realize that this is only my opinion, yet it is very strong. I just want this to be changed, or taken away, because moderators should not always have to get on, they need to not slack off.

Imperial Knight Application

Most splendid application! I believe that you would deserve a rank like this in the future, you are very mature for your age, have a vast knowledge of words and the dsghq, have experience, and you have shown that you are brave, and humble. Nice job, I believe that you would be perfect for this rank!

First, you click 'Create discussion'. Next, you make sure that you put your application in the applications section. Then you will need to make a title, and tell what job you are applying for. Some jobs/ranks you may not apply for, like a royal rank. To create a good application, you should include age (not necessary if private), experience, why you want this rank, why you should be chosen, etc.
http://forums.damenspike.com/view/?id=38061 The link to the left will show tips on a good application, and what you should and shouldn't do. Make sure to never copy someone else's work, make it original, and remember, you will not get a rank immediately if you apply for it, patience is a great quality to have when making an application in life. Good luck!

How to use the Snowball Server
•
14th May 2015, 11:16 AM
Sometimes, people do not understand what snowball spamming is, and the snowball server is the perfect place to play with your friends in an all out snowball match. First of all, the snowball server is whiteout, and you are allowed to spam there, because it is meant for that. Anyways, snowball spamming is when you throw More than 4 snowballs at once, and it can cause major lag and annoyance if everyone were to do it, that is why it is a rule. Here on the snowball server though, you may throw as many as you'd like.
How to use Squad Commands
The squad commands are easy, but the server will not let you create more than 2 squads in a certain amount of time or it will not create it for you.
The first is /cs. This is called create squad, which you can create a squad of your own in which you are the leader of it. To use it, you must input a squad name that has not been used. Passwords are optional, but it must be the space after the squad name. Squad names cannot have spaces in them, or the space after that will create a password. An example without a password is /cs $ailors. An example with a password is /cs $ailors Kangaroos.
The second is /js. /js means Join Squad, and you can join another's squad with this command. This one is not that complicated, although if you are re-joining your own squad that has a password, you'll have to remember it. Make sure it is not too hard of a password. Anyways, to use the command, type in /js (squad name) (password) [password is optional].
Heart Emblem and Colors
The heart emblem is only for team leaders who have another teammate in the room. It will only appear if you are a team leader with a team member other than yourself in the same room as you are.
Colors are what tell you which team you are on. If a person has a red heart, they are a leader of a different team and they have a teammate in the same room. If the person has a red team name below them, they are an enemy which you can kill. A green heart means that your leader is in the room, or you are the leader with a teammate in the same room. A green team name means that they are a part of your team. You are not allowed to kill teammates, the server will not allow you since they are a part of your team, and you could basically cheat by doing so.
Rules apply to the snowball server the same as they would on any other server, but you are allowed to throw as many snowballs as you'd like on whiteout.
Grenades and Clusters
Grenades and clusters are improved snowballs, depending on which they are.
Grenades: To obtain 1 grenade, you must kill 10 people in the same round. If you die while having the grenade, it goes away. Grenades are said to kill at least one person if they are in the room, but you must be accurate.
Clusters: To obtain clusters, you must kill 25 people in the same round. You will get 10 clusters, and they are regular snowballs, but come out in 3's. They come out three at a time, and do not count as three, but form sort of a triangle with one as each vertex (a vertex is a point at the end of a triangles side, plural is vertices).
Stats
Stats are fun, and they are on the play.clubpenguin.pro website. It will show as stats, and you will be able to click the link, and find out the snowball server stats below the overall online time played stats. These stats will tell you what place you are in out of 20, your team name, how many kills your team has, and how many deaths your team has. You need a certain amount of kills to stay on the statistics list, and my tip is that you should be careful about how you throw and dodge in the snowball server. A good ratio of kills over deaths shows how skilled you are.
Kills/Deaths
There are no lives, so it is easy to kill. Regular lives depend on 3-10, but you never really know how many someone has, because they could have been hit multiple times.
How to use Snowballs
Snowballs are very important, if you want to win. To throw one, you will simply click on the snowball button to the left of your chatting box, aim at a penguin that is alive and fire.
Tip: To throw fast snowballs, click 't' off the chat box, and fire fast. This is much more efficient. Make sure you are not on the chat box, and make sure that you click somewhere else wherever you are, then you can type 't' fast. If that doesn't work, just stick to throwing less snowballs.
Snowball Wars
Snowball wars are held every now and then, and everyone in the dsghq is allowed to participate. Armies from club penguin also attend, and it is to decide who is the best of the best. Right now, oldcp is the reigning champion of the snowball server, and continues to hold it's rank.
How to Change your Snowball
To change your snowball, you must click the (?) to the right of your chat box, and click 'Change Snowball'. There, you will find a selection of snowballs like Normal, Snail, Poop, Puffle, Damen face, Water Balloon, Fire Ball, Fish, and Burger.
Fun Fact: The Fireball is usually used the most, followed by the normal, and then puffle/poop.
How to Check Progress
You can type /status to see how many attacks you've made on others, which basically is how many times you hit people, it shows kills and your deaths, it shows assaults on you (hits that have hit you), and it shows the time, and who is winning.
How much time is in a Round?
There are ten minutes in one round.
If there was someone I didn't mention, tell me here! I hope this helped you, and I hope that you understand the snowball server more!

Assistant would be WAY too overpowered. That would mean that they get more than knights and mods combined, and would pretty much have to be one of the most trusted people in oldcp with those powers and weapons. I like the teacher suggestion though, it would be like tour guides, but much more useful. Nice suggestions, but if there were to be assistants, they would be only to mods/staff, because knights would not need it, and it would have no powers.

how exactly do you play i have an xat accout already,
It won't matter if you are registered or not, you have to pc the player you are versing. Then, while making sure you are pc'ing them (pc means private chat), you click the games tab on the left, go to the second page, and click on find four. You should be able to play with anyone if you are in a pc with them.

DRASTIC difference between 2nd place and 1st place money..
Yes, the original prize was 250 for first, and that was it, but the bank sponsored. Second place didn't win, but at least got 80 gold, since everyone did a good job, and second place does not always get prizes. Anyways, it was a fun tournament, and when there are more in the future (sponsored by the bank or gold from me), there will be a slight change so that second gets a little more.

knights counted as staff?
•
7th May 2015, 10:49 AM
Ok, I am disagreeing with this majorly because of many reasons. My first reason is that they are not trusted enough, that is why they are settling for a smaller rank. My second reason is that they only have the power to arrest/release and have a sword. Yes they can kill, but if they killed people randomly, they wouldn't be a knight, would they? And besides, staff can ban or kick the person, which is usually more efficient. By the way, knights do not have the power to go to people, but they do have the power to go to /jail. Anyways, my third reason is that there are too many knights for them all to be considered staff members. If they were staff members, they would not have any new powers, so that wouldn't be useful at all, and pw brothers and pw captains are pretty much mini-staff with their powers. My fourth reason is that they do not all have that much trust, and that is why they have the knight rank. This reason goes along with the first, because knights might betray more than a staff member would. Staff members have the power to walk on walls, and that would be majorly confusing if someone asked a knight to ban someone because they were on the walls. Anyways, my final reason is just that knights are just a rank, not part of the staff. If knights were staff members, then all ranks would be staff members. Even if they have all these powers, we have enough staff members as it is, and really knights would not be suitable to be a staff member unless they got moderator. Just to point out, they don't HAVE to be on as often as moderators and staff do, and don't have to attend meetings, so they can be on when they like, as long as they are on a little bit each day.
Anyways, thanks for sharing your idea, I don't think it would work out though.

Hey guys, I have decided to host a find four tournament on xat. I will need a maximum of 16 or 32 people, depending on how many sign up. You must be a registered user on xat, and you can sign up if you'd like. To play, you must pc (private chat) your opponent, and set up a game by clicking on the games, next page, and click find four. Note: I will not update the bracket, but will simply write down your opponent if you are registered in the tournament. You do not really have to be a registered xat user, it is just helpful to be to not confuse me.
