You know, this is actually quite a good idea.
We had something similar to this a year or so ago, it was jousts.
Jousts was an event that was quite un-common and special, however now it happens every day.
Perhaps we need something else!

I agree, any kind of power should not be used irresponsibly and when you have that much power you should have a certain amount of respect for the community, no matter what side you're on.

You should especially not attack people in spawn, with that much power you should have a good, clean fight that is at least 'fair' for your opposition.

In some ways, I agree and disagree with you.
Just because somebody is ranked doesn't mean they are automatically a target.
If they're armed and you are certain that they are armed, for example seeing them pull said weapon at you or when you were there, then that does give you more ground to attack them. But attacking in spawn is a definitive no. No matter what they've done, you cannot attack somebody in spawn. Whether it was on accident or not, which I shall not judge, please try not to do it again.

Crimezone should be fun and enjoyable for everybody, not just a few people. So please think about who you're going to attack or drag into it before-hand.

OldCP was and I know that it still will be a good community.
We just need to amend a few kinks in the pipe and get the water flowing again.

A few of you may have saw my post that I made the other day about taking a break, which I still am.
However I have wanted to make this post for a while and a lot of things have been on my mind.

What has happened?
A lot has changed since around 8 months ago.
The rank structure for a start, lots of player have left and we have a much smaller community.
A crime zone situation happens like every hour when before we'd be lucky if it happened every few months, and it is a rare event that was to be cherished, so to speak.
SOME members of the community are rather toxic and rude. An incident yesterday at Nate's trial had occurred which led up to my making the decision of taking a break, I'm not going to mention any names in this post but you know who you are.
So many players have left, and there are barely any 'OG' players left.

I want to make it clear that I am happy with the main majority of the staff team at the moment. The Moderators, Knight Captains and all of them do an excellent job. However one thing that stands out to me is the amount of toxicity in this community at the moment.
A lot of people are being toxic, like the issue I mentioned at Nate's trial. Some people may see it as a joke, however some people don't, especially if you're the one targeted. Like I mentioned earlier, it is only the odd few that are being toxic and ruining the experience for others at times, but it really does have an effect, so please think about what you're saying before you say it as you could really upset/hurt someone.

I believe OldCP isn't done yet. It still has a bright future and a good community, but a few things do need to change if we really want it to grow.
You don't play games or become a part of a community like OldCP and the DSGHQ community as a whole to be offended, bullied or feel miserable as a consequence.
You join it so that you can make friends and have a generally good time. Which is why I'm really upset to come back after a year and see things like this.

I don't believe he should've been killed.
Sure, what he did wasn't entirely necessary as I wasn't attacking him there and then and I had indeed stated it was an accident.
He actually said "it's cool", or something along those lines.

Sure, arrest him for a day or so if you want, but to execute him?
It seems a little too far.

Why was I thrown in jail? It wasn't even my trial and I somehow manage to get arrested.
Besides, I don't think Nate should've been killed. Perhaps he should've been arrested for a day or so since I wasn't a threat to him at the moment that he killed me, as he was healing me, but I did bite him. Although it was accidental and a mistake on my part, Nate could've thought I was attempting to turn him into a Vampire. Technically it was self defence.

I'm also rather upset at what Adawg said to be when I did nothing to him, which is part of the reason why I'm taking a break from OldCP.
Things have definitely changed. Too many people are rude, there are too many senseless killings and a lot of the good members of the community have left.
I'm not saying everybody left is awful, and the majority of you are good people, however comments made by Adawg are entirely un-necessary and could be what lead up to players leaving and not finding the game interesting anymore.

Hello.

I was considering leaving a while ago, and I'm still un-sure now.
However it is clear that I am ruining OldCP for some and I would rather quit than ruin their experience.
I apologise to anyone I offended.
I apologise to Nate for accidentally biting him, I apologise to Adawg for whatever I did to offend him in the trial and I apologise to Arona for attacking her.
I wish you all the best of luck in the DSGHQ community, and if you're wondering this is a 'quitting' post of sorts, however I'm un-sure whether it is to be permanent.
Perhaps a time will come where my mistakes are forgotten and people can forgive my sins.
It is clear that I cannot try to fix my life on a whole, as hard as I might pray and as hard as I might try to block things out.
It appears that only taunts haunt me still, and I cannot escape them after running a thousand miles. I'm ending everything.
