Reminder on Discussion Lengths
•
4th December 2013, 05:55 PM
I hate to make a discussion right after another, but I feel like this should be said.
When on the forums, I have found that the length of a discussion becomes a very picky subject, and I felt like something needed to be said. This isn't directed towards those who make the short posts, but actually to those who comment on short posts.
When someone makes a short discussion, please do not comment on the discussion saying it is too short. This just creates huge controversy between what is classified as too short and what is classified as "good enough".
But what exactly is good enough? I have looked into this by looking at the Rules page that lists the official rules. I carefully read through the "OldCP Forum Rules" made by Damen AND the quote underneath taken from a similar post created by Nintendo. Neither of these rules actually specify what makes a discussion too short, besides the statement to "not make any spam topics". I have read before that what makes a discussion long enough was 35 characters, which is actually really short and I believe they meant words. So, I am assuming that the official restriction is to not make a post shorter than 35 words.
Now, don't go around like a creeper and count how many words are in a post if it seems too short. In fact, unless the topic was extremely pointless or blindingly obvious to be too short, don't say anything at all.
Okay, so what if you do find a discussion that seems to be pointless or way too short, then what do you do? I will repeat that you should not comment on the post about it's length. If it seems to bother you, address it to the author who wrote the discussion and ask them to edit the post so that it isn't that short. If they refuse to do so and the topic is against the OldCP regulations, take it up with the staff members of OldCP. They will take care of it.
Addressing the issue of a discussion being too short in a comment is just the same as commenting on the discussion about some grammar error.
If there actually is an official post describing a limit on the shortage of a post, please email me the correct rule along with the source you got it from. Thank you for reading.
That's all.

Visuals on Ghost
•
4th December 2013, 04:28 PM
For people who have seen the post Visuals on Cyberwolf, this is the exact same circumstance for Ghost. For those who haven't seen the post, here's how it works:
I find images across the internet that I believe best suits the person or thing that I'm visualizing, which for this discussion is obviously Ghost. I do not own any of these images. These are simply found using search engines. If you find a better image that you believe best suits the topic, please feel free to post it in the comment section. Also, if you're an artist and have the time to do so, feel free to draw the visual yourself.
Also please note that I try to get different perspectives of the topic so not every picture will look gloomy and not every picture will look happy and cheerful. With this topic of Ghost, I try to keep it so that there are not any scary or inappropriate images, and I ask that anyone please refrain from posting these in the comment section.
Here are some visuals I that I thought best suited Ghost:
The last image I don't visualize Ghost at all as a Mario character, but like I said, I tried to put in different point of views into this discussion.
Again, if you have different visuals in mind or have your own work that you'd like to share, please feel free to do so in the comment section.
I have to admit, the goal I was aiming for on the visuals for Ghost weren't as strong as I had found for Cyberwolf's, and I hope that the next one I make (if I make it) will have much more images that I find favorable.
Edit: The link BB Code seems not to be working on this post, and as much as I'd hate to give the direct URL instead of masking it with a light blue word, here's the link to Visuals on Cyberwolf: http://forums.clubpenguin.pro/view/?id=6248

Reminder on Quotes
•
3rd December 2013, 06:22 PM
Just a short little reminder, you do not need to quote the entire discussion when commenting on it. The point of commenting on the discussion is to be on topic with it, so quoting isn't necessary.
There is one exception to quoting a discussion, and that's when quoting one portion of the post, usually when asking a question by not understanding that statement or other plausible reasons.
I have made this because I've seen this become a habit to some users, although it's not entirely their fault. If you don't know how to quote only a section of a post, simply highlight the words you want to quote, copy that text, and paste it in between [ quote ][ /quote ]
That's all.

Image Bug/Glitch
•
3rd December 2013, 05:37 PM
It is unlikely that this is a glitch or bug. Be sure you're using the right links for your images. For example, if you took a screenshot and uploaded it on prntscr, you are NOT to use the "prntscr" link. Instead, right click the image and open the image in a new tab and copy that URL.
An alternate (and slightly faster/easier) task is to right click the image and copy the image's URL.

Good question. Remember this is the first time they discovered the place. They don't even know if there's other islands. If you noticed, Hanley is worried about the guards at home persuing the betrayers who went with him after his banishment. Obviously the islands name was never settled as Harriet because of this. Chpt 2 will clear this up.

I like the story, but I'm having trouble realizing what island they're on exactly. They said their current island would be named Harriet Island, but I don't see that on the map...will this be renamed or is this story not relevant to the in-game map at all?

It is unfair that they were banning you for their own benefit and humor, but it's not OldCP's website. The only xat chat that is involved with the OldCP community is xat.com/OldCP. Therefore, we cannot do anything about this situation. If you want to take this up with somebody, I would suggest to bring this up to the xat staff instead.

So if you're a visual person, you probably have already thought of this. This discussion is centered on visuals. What would you think a cyberwolf would look like? Well, knowing that the suffix cyber- means computer, and the word wolf means, well, wolf, you can assume that cyberwolf is more of a cyborg wolf.
I found a few pictures off of google that I thought best suited the name, but you can decide what you think best suits it in the comments below. These pictures below are actually one of the first things that will pop up on google images, but I still thought they looked like the best ones.
Now, the last one may not be what I was thinking of when I hear the name, but I tried to show you examples of the name in different perspectives. Since my visuals are usually dark, I wanted to expand my search by finding amusing or humorous visuals.
Suggested by snev:
If you find any pictures that you think fits best for Cyberwolf, please feel free to post it. Also, for anyone artistic, I would advise on drawing your own perspective of Cyberwolf if you have the time, I would love to see it (of course, keep it appropriate).
That's all.

I don't mean to sound nostalgic, but it looks like a conversion between OldCP and SC (Snailschat). I love your simplicity of details that comes in your games.
