OldCP and iOldCP never had the exposure of these big CPPSes. This could change however if I chose to invest in advertising oldcp like I did in the CP army days

That would be great, if you return your patreon and create you could possibly use some of the funds on advertising and promotions??
If thats the case we would need to adjust our appeal a bit so we can keep the new users because Its been pretty long since we've had large waves of new users (aside from p3d).
I'm sure itd be exciting for everyone if we suddenly got a bunch of new users lol

Funny how the Emperor Helper just agreed with my statement, I've played longer than Hashir and everything he reported was pretty spot on and nothing has changed. The problem with goblin and cavetroll spawns was that people got bored of them and they broke the economy. Cz isn't fun when all you can do is sit on the edge and be irrelevant or barely relevant. Dagor got A LOT of people on, so another big war would probably be a really good way to start out a more active and inclusive crimezone and OldCp.

Still, killing bots was atleast SOMETHING to do. It was an easy way to pick up some gold, quests where fun. I seriously think removing them was just stupid.

Ioldcp was a failure from the get go, I don't entirely blame you it's failure is inevitable. I know you'd agree with me that its killing oldcp if you werent its emperor tho

Closing Ioldcp alone won't save OldCP, and keeping it for patreons only isn't a good idea considering it will still drive users away from Oldcp.

We need to hire more admins (2 to 3 more would go a long way)

Train the mods to better appeal to new users, for instance if someone logs in an acro cusses instead of instantly banning them or obnoxiously yelling in their face, simply remind them it's against the rules. We haven't had new users in forever so assuming promotions are effective which they most likely will be. Then mods are going to have to adjust their attitude and be less condenscending.

make access to fighting and crimezone easier, one thing rocket did right was he actually knew how to appeal to new users and the game was actually more active under him than it is now that he and everything he added is gone. I.E) quests, goblin spawns, cave troll spawns. He built on Damens creations and made them accessible to people who aren't armed. This isn't a problem now that most everyone is armed but if we get waves of new users coming in and they have no real reputation established they're gonna have no way of acheiving a rank or a weapon. So whats gonna happen? They'll get bored and leave. We need to make these things more accessible.

A war, if we bring in new users a good way to introduce them to cz would be a war. We could hire them as war knights and start them off with swords and bows and they can get a feel for the weapons. Plus wars have proven to bring old users on also because theyre fun. The reason oldcp has been dead is becase nothings been happening, no events in weeks no wars no cz nothing its not 2013 nobodys just gonna come on to talk. We have discord and the forum to do that.

However long ago Hashir came back to report on his time he spent on Ioldcp, since then a lot of people began to see the flaws of the spin-off game and I've come to the conclusion that getting rid of Orlock isn't the solution, getting rid of Ioldcp is. The community is significantly smaller than it was years ago and splitting a dwindling community between two games that are completely identical is just a bad idea. For those of you who don't know Damen accidentally bought two servers for OldCP and thought he'd make one a spin off where users could run it. So far it's been a disaster and caused nothing but drama and drove OldCP further to its death. Damen if you're never going to shut down Oldcp why not take some of our suggestions on how we can improve the activity. I highly doubt we can ever reach the levels of activity we had back in 2014 but I think with some work we can definitely bring back some old players and hopefully new ones as well. I suggest opening up create and patreon again and using the funds to buy promotions from english speaking youtubers, I also noticed your criteria for that was too high. I don't they should need to be a kid friendly youtuber, we have plenty of moderators who are more than willing to enforce the rules and values of the community and I think the fact Oldcp has so many staff members who work for free is proof that people still care about this game. It's just we notice you aren't as passionate as you once where and we understand that, another suggestion I have is more admins to take the burden off your shoulders. i'm sorry for how unorganized this post is, I'm not even gonna bother reviewing it but it really sucks to see a game I spent my childhood on goto this. In summary, delete Ioldcp and focus our efforts on revivng OldCP. If it's here for the long haul lets at least keep the game moving.

thats cool but how about we try and do something about your dying game, you may not care about the user loss but some of us do and have ideas on how we can fix this. Because we've had random spikes of activity somewhat recently, all hope isn't lost. I think if we held crimezone more and had a war it would spike user activity. I also think Ioldcp takes away the users from OldCP due to its frequent (but poorly orchestrated) crimezone. We all know you care about the game so I just thought I'd give you a quick suggestion on what you could do to bring the users back.

In summary, delete Ioldcp and do crimezone on a more consistent basis.
