As many of you now know, Disney has taken it upon themselves to send out DMCA infringement emails to many CPPS' as a result of the widespread media posted online exposing Riley, the founder of CPO. If you don't know anything about this situation, maybe consider reading the multiple news articles or even watch the several videos posted regarding these recent events.
With that being said, don't think OldCP is going to be an exception to these mass CPPS takedowns. There's been extremely small CPPS' that have received DMCA notices from Disney today, so there's nothing stopping them from making OldCP their next target.
Personally, I do not think OldCP should reopen, nor should it be available at all via a downloadable client. OldCP too violates copyright laws, just like any other CPPS. There's no point risking a legal battle with Disney for a game that was already dying anyway.
In response to Adam's post, I 100% recommend following through with the idea to repurpose Snaildom's engine to make a completely original penguin based virtual world that would be similar to Club Penguin. Damen is extremely talented and has so much potential, he could really benefit from this opportunity.
If OldCP does shut down, please respect this decision. Remember, good things end so better things can begin.

I'm generally so glad this has happened. CPO and CPR are both ran by groups of idiotic people that are completely incapable of running a game with such massive userbases. CPR has been breached numerous times and Riley shouldn't even be allowed anywhere near kids never mind have access to the data of millions of young children. Both servers violate so many safety & copyright laws and deserve to be wiped off the face of the internet for good.
As for Damen, I strongly suggest that he shifts away from OldCP to focus on bigger things like you said. The mans got too much talent and potential, none of which should be wasted on a slowly dying game that will eventually be hunted down and closed by Disney. Repurposing Snaildom's engine and making a penguin based virtual world out of it is an amazing idea!
