I'm yet to understand why people are referred to as 'brave' for coming clean about catfishing? There is nothing brave about it
'brave, courageous, and bold mean showing no fear. brave is used of a person who has or shows no fear when faced with danger or difficulty'
The people who have lied about their gender should be receiving little support or gratitude for what they've done. 'Scott' is still employed as a mod on the forums
Lying is generally frowned upon in the community. Believe it or not, I lied about my age 4 years ago or so, saying I was 18. I also made up many lies about myself. But I was a child, and since matured and before receiving any ranks, came clean.
Both users who lied kept this going for 7 years. They matured but still didn't come clean until recently, which I find hard to understand
Realistically both users will be carrying on in the community as normal, with them keeping their ranks, as there is no given rule against it (I think). But as a community, we should re-evaluate what we call 'brave'
We can't control the actions of other people, and people still lie about a lot of things today. It's good they came clean but at the same time, they shouldn't be praised for it
