Hello everyone!

There will be a new format implemented for Honorable Payoff! It will be hosted the first and third week of every month with ONE winner! Other than your OldCP username and the user who performed the “good deed”, you must include the good deed they have performed and a witness. I recommend putting down a Moderator or a trusted user as a witness.

They will be given the ‘Honorable User’ faction on OldCP and one reward from a list that will be provided to them. They will also have a discussion and announcement in the OldCP Server that is all about them and the good deeds they performed! Earning honorable user or appearing in the form numerous times because of your good deeds can benefit you if you’re looking forward to becoming an OldCP Moderator! Hey! Some of you may be wondering how you can get Moderator on OldCP and what impresses higher-ups. I will list five things we look for and explain each topic briefly. If this post does well enough and you guys want a part two, I'd be glad to make one.


Activity

Activity does not mean everything, however, it looks nice to see people playing the game for what it is, especially when you're unranked and do not get a reward for “completing hours.” Users who are online for many events and throughout the day catch my eye, and it is great to see. This doesn't mean placing in the top five on Player of the Month, as having one day logged per month is also great! Many staff members have one day and are still able to help out and do their jobs actively.


Helpfulness

There are going to be chances for you to be helpful and moderate, even when there are Moderators online to do the job. When a user needs help, I will allow users to help them with me to evaluate how they assist them. Things like this can benefit you for when a vacancy is open or during Game of Moderators. If people are breaking rules and you warn them, that will also be seen by me. You can take action if you have a rank such as Penguin Watch Captain, Penguin Watch, and Imperial Knight. When someone swears or is inappropriate and you take action, that will ALSO be seen. It shows you want to enforce the rules and community values, which is what a Moderator does. Even if you are helpful, there is more that I expect. A perfect example of this is Kensey. Kensey was a North Knight who helped moderators in many situations. She warned users, reminded them of the rules, and prevented/ended drama between users. Kensey is now a Moderator mainly because of her work and CONTRIBUTION.


Personality

Sometimes, it depends. People who are quiet and hug the wall aren’t the greatest for several reasons. Moderators should communicate with the staff and users of the community. The users should know you and you should have a great reputation with them. It is awesome when you do your job, but if you’re not interacting with anyone, it can be difficult for users to reach out to you. I like people who bring positive vibes to the staff team and do not seek to create drama. I like people who would have fun with their role. Moderator should not change who you are as a person, and you should have an easy-going, welcoming attitude, not a cold, strict one.


Knowledge

It is okay if you don’t have experience with ranks, as long as you know a lot about OldCP and have been around for quite some time. When someone knows commands, the ranks and what they do, the different features in the game, the users, and more, it tells me they are fully involved in the community. They are aware of the game and how it functions. When users have experience, it makes them even more qualified for the position, as it acts as proof of their knowledge. Learning from Moderators and PWCs when they take action and using the knowledge for yourself will also make you a good candidate.


Dedication

Lastly, you need to show you want the rank. Do everything listed above and refrain from breaking rules or associating yourself with rule-breakers. Try to stay away from committing treason, as the vacancy for OldCP Moderator states that you are not eligible if you’ve committed treason in the past few months. Be active, be helpful by using commands you may have or verbally warning users, and treat others respectfully. Last but not least, be yourself. You don’t need to change yourself to appear professional. Have fun on OldCP, as long as you are abiding by the rules. Over time, you’ll be recommended by anyone who sees you trying. Good luck!
