Posted in OldCP Custom Items Ideas • 10th March 2016, 09:34 PM

Hey all, I'm back with another post... and... yeah, that's about it.

Anyway, let me express how happy I am that OldCP has gone the custom item route. Personally, the concept of adding entirely new items to games is really cool to me, so I thought, "Hey, why don't I share some of my own ideas?"

So here are some of my own ideas. Not all of them are custom items, but they technically are custom. I could have posted these all on Damen's Custom Item post from a few weeks back, but I have so many ideas that I felt like a whole post would be better.

ALSO: I did NOT read any of the suggestions on Damen's Custom Item post. These are all my own ideas, so if we have the same ideas, I didn't mean to copy you. Hey, great minds think alike, yeah?

1.) Paint 2

Paint 2 is just like Paint 1, but the middle section is colored instead. The command would be similar to Paint 1. Example shown below.

Pretty cool, right?

2.) Invert

Invert is another transformation. Basically, it just makes everything on your penguin the opposite color.

3.) Hoodie Color

Hoodies are definitely the most popular item on OldCP, so why not give it the paint treatment? It gives you any colored hoodie you want.

Dark Purple is a great hoodie color.

4.) Custom Backgrounds

Alright, along with custom clothes, we could also have custom backgrounds. These two items are something I put together. They're kinda mediocre, but I guess they're... decent.

Here's a DSGHQ/Spike one. Looks alright.

5.) Snail Shell Item

Want to be a penguin, but really like snails? Voila! Here's the perfect item. A Snaildom themed shell item. It's better than the CP snail costume. It can come in a variety of colors.

I know this looks bland.

6.) Day/Night Switcher

Bit of a night animal? Feel free to change the island to nighttime with a press of a button! You can also keep it daytime if you enjoy that, too.

Personally, I like the nighttime much more than daytime.

7.) Like Feature

Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure another CPPS had this implemented in their game... but I really can't remember. Maybe I'm just imagining things. Whatever, with this feature, you can like somebody's player card if you like their outfit or something.

I used Terry because who doesn't like Terry? Look at him, he has a whopping 9,001 likes! Yeah, you can also see how many likes each person has. This is one of my favorite ideas.

8.) Disable Snowballs

Hate snowballs and the awful sound they make!? Fear no more, you can now disable snowballs entirely!

I know you want this.

9.) Deadpool Costume

Alright, this is a bit of a personal wish... I love Deadpool, and a costume would be the greatest day of my life. I went above and beyond my usual ways of working and decided to make my very own Deadpool costume. I know this won't be added, but it looks reaaaalllly cool.

Please? I know this looks kinda like trash, but it'd be awesome.

10.) Other

A: More custom igloo furniture. DSGHQ themed.
B: PLEASE make the mute button work. I don't know if it's just me, but it never works.
C: PLEASE make postcards work so they game doesn't freeze on us. Custom postcards would be cool too, huh?
D : This contradicts the mute button part, but adding music to rooms would be a fantastic feature.
E: Rooms/SWFs could use some editing
F: More interactive Crimezone clues! The Rocketsnail Museum was a perfect example of this! Please add more!

That about wraps it up. Like my ideas? I worked hard on them, although they're a bit... MS Painty... Anyway, I hope you enjoyed them. I know they'd be kinda hard to implement, but some would be fantastic. Thanks for reading.

Alright, I'm here to give you some friendly advice. Please don't take any of this the wrong way, I really do think you're a cool person (I really mean it, please don't think I'm lying).

You're obviously frustrated, that's understandable. I'd be frustrated if I were in your shoes too. What he said was a little rude, I'll admit. Honestly, he probably shouldn't have said it at all.

But using your frustration against someone issssnnn'tttt really the best way to use it. When you're mad, I recommend using that anger for something productive. Bashing on something/someone only makes these problems worse, resulting in more people going against you. I hope you're picking up what I'm layin' down. The Internet is just a really bad place for these kind of posts. It's best to keep the thoughts to yourself.

Again, please don't find this offensive. I'm honestly just trying to help you out. Please take those words into consideration.

Edit: Oops, guess that person was a she. My bad.

Anyone can live anywhere in Hobbesville. You basically can do and build anything you want, and there's no rules. Besides the rules that Damen and Hashir have given to the entire server.

I'm hoping this doesn't drown in complaint posts.

Woah?! Sting is alive and posting something? Yeah, I am posting something. It's actually been like 7 months since I posted something, that's a fun fact.

Alright, anyway, believe it or not, I've been messing around on the DSGHQ Minecraft server a lot, and became really active on it recently. If you don't already know, the DSGHQ Minecraft server is where around 20 users from here created a ton of cool projects, such as towns, pixel art, etc. All these things inspired me to actually make my own town, and it's been progressing quite a lot. What's the town called?

Hobbesville.

Hobbesville is the first underground town to ever exist on the server. Unfortunately, it was a pain to build, but with a ton of help from some awesome users, - you know who you are - we got all of it cleared out in only a few days!

So, you may be wondering, how do you get to Hobbesville?

It's pretty sneaky actually, and I'll show you below.
So first off let's start off in the spawn room, where it all begins.

You begin to walk down the stairs... What's this? Do I spy some suspicious signs?

Indeed, you do, let's see what they're asking us...

Well, that's nifty! Whoever gave the directions sure is a nice guy, huh? Alright, due to laziness, we're skipping the part where we fall down the hole, but let's see what we find.

Gosh golly gee! A secret minecart railroad conveniently on the way to Hobbesville? What luck! So, let's find out what's at the end of this tunnel.

Nice! You made it to Hobbesville. The room you're currently seeing is the garden, beautifully crafted with swirling waters, extravagant trees, and a few pigs. You also can see one of the residents, Steve, aimlessly walking around. Now, let's see the real deal.

Welcome to the city of Hobbesville. Looks pretty gnarly, right? Hobbesville is filled to the brim (not really, but soon) with things to do. You can check out the local pet shop, or perhaps you're in need of some equipment at our store. Perhaps you're feeling bored and want to game. Well, you're in luck, Hobbesville has an arcade! In addition to those things, there's a free-to-use apartment where you can fully customize your room however you want! Also, you can write your name on walls, showing that you've visited Hobbesville!

Stomach empty? Check out our very own restaurant, giving a beautiful view of the underground waterfalls and Hobbesville itself.
Here's some generic pictures of Hobbesville now.

This is where another entrance is located.

Fun Fact: Part of the Hobbesville Apartments actually extend underwater and soon to be aboveground as well!

Yep, that's Hobbesville. Feel free to check it out. And of course, the DSGHQ MC Server always needs some love, so check it out in general. Hopefully you all think it's pretty cool, it took a lot of work! Have a tubular day, thanks for reading.

Being a member isn't required. I was still a rookie when I first earned moderator. You just need a forums account.

Pretty darn good application. Not sure what else I add. But like a few others say, try to earn member on the forums (you aren't too far). Other than that, it's great! Just remember you don't have to be "too" serious, and you can still have some fun. Good luck.

Yeah, he's right with all the magic powder and Shrek stuff.

With that Djinn stuff aside, you can't deny Matthew did something wrong. If the battle didn't happen, the outcome would've still been exactly the same. He would've been demoted.

Posted in Feedback Discussion Of The Moderator Spreadsheet • 12th June 2015, 01:29 PM

I can agree with everything on this post. OldCP is a game. It's just something to pass time and have a bit of fun. While moderating is very important, we've never had to force them to moderate a certain amount a week. It's never been a problem in the past, and shouldn't be a problem right now. If there's a moderator that's truly being inactive, we can tell without having a spreadsheet.

Posted in How Has the DSGHQ Changed You? • 23rd April 2015, 09:46 PM

Hey everyone!

After debating awhile, I've decided to create a discussion, and I guess it'll be a little more on the philosophical side. Plus, I just haven't posted a regular discussion in a pretty long time.

So, this is either a simple question or a much deeper question for you.
How has the DSGHQ affected how you act, think, see life, etc.?

I guess since it's my question, I'll give my personal answer. (Warning: This might kinda be a TL;DR post. Read if you want to read.)

Being with the DSGHQ now for nearly 3 years, I can easily say it's changed me both in positive and negative ways. First with the positives. If you look at my older mood posts, you can definitely see a change in me. I've improved my grammar immensely from being around with some of you, and of course, I've met some amazing people. I find it pretty cool that we're honestly just a typed up names, most of us don't even know what we sound or look like, yet we can maintain such a close friendship. People in real life always told me the Internet can be dangerous and never to get close with people on there. While that does hold some truth, it also is pretty stupid. The Internet may just be text, but I really feel like I understand a lot of you. Emotion is pretty hard to capture in a simple sentence, yet, a lot of us here do it perfectly on the DSGHQ.

I also like to think the DSGHQ as some kind of mirror. I can see how I really act. In real life, I'm really shy, so I don't really express myself too well. On here is way different, though. I can easily share my personal interests without really having worry. Unfortunately, that actually leads to some of the negatives for me.

I guess you could say the DSGHQ "awakened" me and showed that I'm just not good at communicating with people in real life. As weird as this may sound, I honestly get depressed that I can't seem to talk with people in real life like I do on here. And even on here, I still can't open up to anyone as much as I want to. This is something that's been bothering me for a real long time, and I never can seem to get over it. On a different subject, I find myself a lot more judgmental and rude to people now. A lot of people deny that statement, but sometimes I feel I really act that way. It causes me to sometimes look down on both older and younger people. That can be a good thing, since it may show that I know my rights from wrongs, yet it makes me feel guilty.

I could go on and on about my thoughts, but no one wants to read a book. I do want to say thank you to all of you, though. I want to open up more, and it's time I've thanked everyone for just being everyone. That's basically it, so I hope you enjoyed it. Not expecting too many responses, but I really just wanted to make a post. Thanks for reading.
