im thankful for

I had to take a very sudden leave.. I think it was 5 weeks where I was just gone? I'm not sure but… I was gonna because my whole family was infected with covid-19 (with the exception of me). I'm thankful that I did not get sick with the virus and im thankful that my family all recovered.

Everyday for these past weeks; I woke up around 6am to clean and sanitize the areas my family might have roamed around the house during the night. Around 8 I began cooking/preparing breakfast for my family… and here's where it gets hard. My family has certain allergies and some can't eat or touch certain foods; meaning I have to basically make 4 different dishes for 4 different people 3 times a day ((and this isn't even including myself)). This itself was already stressful for me.. Having to take over chores such as grocery shopping, getting water, house sanitization and helping my family with entertainment. Days after days I just grew even more tired than the previous.. My social status is declining alongside my mental and emotional health.

I learned a lot in relation to family value and gratitude and I'm severely thankful they’re all fully recovered now. So please please please PLEASE wear a mask. Masks protect others and people who wear masks as well will protect you. Please dont be selfish like the people who infected my family were. Stay safe and please please please take as much measures to keep yourself and others from this virus.

Nonetheless; I am very thankful for Layla for taking over and becoming the new and permanent LOTB so congrats to her!

the homophobia jokes i made were unacceptable bc i am not part of the lgbt community like many members of this community are but about the “racist” jokes. the jokes were about me personally. i am an immigrant and have faced a lot of discrimination bc of who i am. i’ve had tissue boxes thrown at me and my dad at walmart, we’ve been called “beaners” and have been told to go back to mexico even though we are not even mexican. the worst thing probably was when someone called the cops on my dad because we were speaking spanish and they thought he was trafficking me. discord is definitely not the best place to talk about these jokes but i don’t think i’m racist. if you have anything to add please just comment

In our discord dms you came off really agressive and rude.
I too am an immigrant have dealt with very similar... if not WORSE issues than the one you said. I've been robbed, mugged and beaten multiple times because of how I look and because of where I come from and Its definitely not a joke. I dont even joke with my own family about these things.
It feels outright disrespectful and insensitive to those who DO care and dont see it as a joke. Just because you're ok with it doesnt mean you should say it out loud.. especially considering the status of the world right now and how many people you offended.
