I have 2 things that herobrine is:

A myth/creepypasta made up to scare minecraft players.
A user putting viruses into the game making creepy attack scenes happen. They then say 'herobrine' is the attacker even though he isn't real.

Hello Tennis, I was joking about joining snowfalls and I have learnt my lesson and will never copy my actions. If I did I wouldn't deserve an unban!

Perhaps a case of water was put in a cold environment and when it was opened ice ghosts escaped!
