I am currently writing a Snaildom story called "The Journey" If you would like to be updated every time I write a new chapter then subscribe!
Chapter 1 ~ Intro-The Fire:
I wake up in the middle of the night. Smelling a burning flame, I quickly realize that my home is on fire. I don't have any time to think just escape. The smell of burning ashes spreads and the smoke becomes thicker and thicker. I barely make it out in time. Watching from a nearby hill I see my house I had lived in since a child, being destroyed. A single tear sheds from my eye. "Be Strong, Be Strong" I tell myself. I start to slither away never looking back. Nothing but the shell on my back is all I have now.
Chapter 2 ~ Lost:
Slowly and surely, with the burden of loss on my shoulders, I travel though the forest deeper than I had ever gone before. I thought a slither through the forest would cheer me up like it normally did but, not even the beautiful chirping of the crickets brought me a speck of joy. It way not until I heard the sound of running water from a nearby waterfall did I realize, I had gone to far to find my way back. I saw no point in going back to the kingdom where I had once lived so, I decided not to worry. I went to the waterfall to get a drink for I was quite parched. Just as I bent over to take a sip I hear something shuffling behind me. Quickly, I hide in my shell in fear. The noise stops. Slowly, I come out of my shell a little. The next thing I saw horrified me!
Chapter 3 ~ The Falls:
What I saw was a Mammoth Bullfrog! It had to be at least 6 inches long! It let out it's awful ground trembling croak trying to attract a mate. Luckily, I don't think it saw me. Unfortunately, the tremble of the ground from the croak sent me straight into the water! Using my shell as a boat I quickly maneuver to get close to the ground. I hear the sound of another waterfall, I was about to go over! Desperately I pick up a twig floating by with my mouth and try to use it to paddle against the rapidly flowing water. All of my efforts fail and I start to go over. "So this is how I die." I say.
Chapter 4 ~ Grace:
Right before I fall against the rocks at the bottom of the falls a bird catches me with it's talons! I scream in fear thinking that at any moment I would be bird food but, there was something familiar about this bird. I notice that it seems to be flying towards the hidden kingdom. Then I realized why this bird was so familiar. "I can't believe your..." Before I can finish the bird lets go of me. "AHHHHHH!!!!!!!" I scream in fear. Then the bird swings around and I land on it's back. Low and behold it was my Best Friend DSC and his vegetarian Scarlet Macaw pet Grace! He had found Grace as a baby when she had fallen out of a humans truck one day. Together we had trained her to only eat Fruits and Vegetables. At first everyone in the kingdom panicked when they saw us bring her back with us but, she quickly became a beloved pet by everyone. "You're just lucky that when you get in trouble Skippy, I always seem to get you out." DSC said. Skippy was his nickname for me, since my parents couldn't read or write they had accidentally misspelled my name when I was born. My official name was sK1PPY1 Pole. Slowly we descended to the ground of one of the kingdom's streets. Right as we landed though we heard a noise getting louder and louder, closer and closer! It was a pack of Wood Mice that had found the village and they were coming straight at us!
Chapter 5 ~ The Wood Mice:
The Wood Mice had that crazy look in their eyes, those awful disgusting creatures were always hungry. They had foam dripping from their mouths with their eyes looking blood red indicating rabies. Everyone tries to hide in their shell in fear of being eaten even though it's useless against their terrible teeth. Just as one tries to pick up a baby snail with no way to protect itself I feel something inside of me snap. Instantly, I know what I must do. I hop on top of Grace and fly her towards the mice. One by one I direct Grace to use her claws to slash them open. The other mice trying to avenge the ones I had killed follow me in blind fury not paying attention to where I'm leading them. I was leading them into Grace's bird cage which had been made by the entire kingdom working together. Unfortunately, the only way to close the door and keep them in would be for me to have to be slung into the cage with them and activate the mechanism that controls the door. It had accidentally been put on the inside instead of the outside during construction and was never fixed. Quickly, I pick up a knight's sword I had seen someone drop earlier. Before Grace flew into the cage though, I forced her to suddenly stop slinging me right next to the mechanism that controlled the door. The mice who were behind me quickly piled in and as the last came in, I closed the door. I was now trapped with them.
Chapter 6 ~ The New Knight:
It was me a tiny little snail with a sword against what seemed like a never ending pile of mice. Knowing I had to protect the kingdom all of my fear went away. I kill each mouse one at a time and sometimes even two. Slowly but surely they all die. Once I realized that I had killed all of them I am amazed at how my love for my kingdom drove me to do what I thought was impossible. I slowly make it back to the cage opening mechanism. Once I open it and start to slither out I notice that the King himself was there! I hid in my shell thinking that I was dead but, then I realized if I was dead I wouldn't have a shell. Slowly I come out and see him in all of his glory! "You have done well young one." He said. Was he talking to me? A normal snail being talked to by the king! I couldn't believe it! I instantly bowed down to him. "You may rise." He told me. "No offense your Majesty but, why are you talking to me, an ordinary everyday snail?" I ask. "I saw the way you wielded your sword, I saw your determination to protect the kingdom. You are no ordinary snail you were born to be a knight!" He said. Me a knight, I couldn't believe it! "What you have done here today proves your worthiness so I knight the sK1PPY1 the Girl Knight!" He said. "You could call me Skippy for short if you want your majesty." I reply feeling shocked he knows my name. "Skippy, I heard what happened to your house so it will be rebuilt. Until it's construction is done you while get to stay in the castle with me." He then replies. I had only seen the castle from afar wondering what it would be like to go inside but, I never imagined living in it! That is the story of how I become one of the king's most trusted knights.
The End
