Hey guys, today I have an idea for the OldCP forums. Like a lot of other forums, I think OldCP should have different ranks based on the post count.
Below I've come up with the ranks and how many posts you need to get them. These ranks won't give any new permissions.
New Member=0-9 posts
Rookie=10-69 posts
Adept=70-199
Intermediate=200-499
Writer=500-999
Experienced=1000-1999
Expert=2000-3999
Commander=4000-7999
Legend=8000+
Of course this is just a rough copy but gives a good understanding of the main idea.

Great ideas. Staff maybe could have the 'Moderator' and their rank below.

And maybe have something like little penguins beneath our names that are in relation to the post count. For example, if you are a new member, you have one penguin thats blue, and if you are a rookie you'd have 2 penguins one blue and one red. Something like that. And moderators would have all light blue penguins.

This is a great idea! But, don't you think that 8000 posts is a little hard? I mean the most is Kara, and she only has 700. But, I do think the icon ranks are good, and we could still have the ranks. We should just lower them, so it is not nearly impossible to get.

The post ranks are to show off your dedication, and if I just stopped at lets say, 1000, then those people who really do get high posts won't achieve anything greater. The post count ranks don't give you anything but icons and it isn't really something that can be hard to get but comes naturally.
I don't know how else to explain it, but from past experiences having ranks up in high numbers really makes that rank special to those who achieves it, and its perfectly possible.
