Don't Get Too Comfortable On The Internet

The internet is one of the world's most innovative inventions. It has been one of the most useful inventions in the last 50 years. Although, today I'm going to talk about the internet relating to the DSGHQ. Sometimes, we feel so comfortable on the internet that we say things or do things we would never do in real life. The main reason for this is because we're not literally 1 on 1 with someone, meaning we cannot see or hear the person we're talking to, and we don't feel as guilty doing something as to doing it in real life. When we're online, we don't realize what we're doing. [such as bullying, harshness, harassment, threats, and causing drama] We end up 'ruining our reputation' in the DSGHQ community just because we didn't think about our actions. I myself said some pretty hurtful things online, and I felt guilty after being confronted. Sometimes I still remind myself of my actions, and I feel pretty bad about what I did. It ended up that people were easily willing to forgive me for what I had done, which lifted much unnecessary guilt. That day I realized that anyone can forgive, but not everyone is willing. In this community I see so much talking behind others backs about how someone else had said/done something awful to them online. As I've said, I am guilty of doing so aswell. Even if we are humans, we still need to limit our rude opinions about others, because if we lived our whole life not trusting anyone that did something wrong, we'd be getting nowhere. Sometimes we need to accept that people aren't perfect, and they could be one of our greatest friends if we just let some things go.
That isn't the reason why I made this post. We need to start thinking about what we say online before we make the wrong decision. The internet can sometimes be our comfort zone when we need it, and maybe it releases some of our tense emotions. We cannot take advantage of the internet's connection with others, because this could lead to worse intentions and consequences. As a community, we need to stay strong and trust each other, even if some of the people here in your opinion could be mistrusting. I'm not talking about anyone, but you probably know what I mean when I say you don't trust some of the people here. I just don't want the community to repeat the dramatic process over and over as much, because we can reduce drama and tenseness by a lot if we treat others online with respect. If someone continued to wrong you multiple times on the internet, would you fight back? No, you don't punish them for what they've done to you. Talking behind another's back or harassing someone online is just as bad as what someone else could do to you. In this community, I see a lot of pointing fingers; although we aren't perfect, we have to meet someone before we jump to any conclusions. And even after someone keeps harassing you, just report it to a staff member and don't let it go public. We need to all learn that we cannot push the limits of others online, because we could be causing much unneeded drama. We need to think of the internet as real life, where if we say one wrong thing we could be damaging one's feelings, which is basically what we're doing. Keep your temper, and think about your actions before saying something online. Only then can we break the harassing system.
