I do this so much, and I cannot help feeling bad for doing so. I compare so many people, it isn't even funny. Basically, I take one person or experience and compare it to another. If it isn't as great as what is being compared to, I'll always complain about this certain thing. I'll always measure the weight of both things no matter what they are. Once I see something amazing; my standards for everything else are higher. This is why I'm telling you guys today that you shouldn't compare to complain.
Complaining is a natural feeling when something doesn't live up to the standard of others, or if it isn't as we expected it would be. A lot of times we complain because of another experience which was better. I want you guys to learn from my mistakes. From what I've seen; I know everyone does these things. We might go to a nice 5 star hotel and maybe a few months later we go to a 3 star one without facilities. We start complaining about everything such as the small space and the amount of beds there are compared to people staying in the room. We make other experiences worse just because they aren't as good as others. In life, we cannot compare those we work with or things we've seen just because one might be better than the other. Comparing can even make memories worse. We might be able to go to a few amusement parks in our childhood/life, and if we say to our parents, "Oh, I was kinda expecting _______ [another amusement park]." then we would sound so ungrateful. We are given things for a reason, and when we take them for granted we lose one more memory. Although it might not be as good as something else, you might be able to have just as much fun there.
Like I said in the last paragraph, we could sound ungrateful if we complain or even turn down an offer which could be an amazing experience but we ruin it with complaints. We as a community need to accept that sometimes we can't always get the best out of every situation, but there will always be a chance that we can turn a complaint into an opportunity. We could turn a dull inexpensive trip into nice family time. There are many possibilities; we just have to make the best of everything. If we compare to complain, life would be less joyful as should be intended.
