You might see a 'Cool Kid' with new shoes and apparently they're "really cool". But you don't need to copy them, you might not even like them (you're just trying to be "cool" when being that type of "cool" doesn't make you actually "cool")

You'd be like to your parents/guardian "I want these shoes! ('Cool Kid's Name') has them!" but remember your parents or guardians might not be made out of money.

Don't copy them, because if you don't like them, just be your self. Copying somebody is actually horrible for the person being copied, they're being hurt inside that you're copying them, sometimes they snigger or smirk at you for being their 'Copying Slave'.

No matter what you look like, just keep it the way you want it, be yourself all the time. Lying about your personality (or anything else), you don't realise you could lead onto more lies, and another and another and another. You could just say "I'm really sorry, I lied" but that wont solve something that probably was told to the whole world or something, apologies about lying doesn't keep you good, like nobody would trust you, they'd think you're a bag of lies and they think you'll lie to them again. Some friends might stick up for you, but that doesn't mean they don't think you're a bag of lies. Figure out how to solve it, it would take years to master that.
