Banning the word simp was a genius move, now the 12-year-old population of the game will suddenly be banned.

Jokes aside, banning the word simp doesn't make much sense to me. Just because some people got their feelings hurt on discord doesn't mean we should go ban people for the use of the word.

Have the moderators monitor bullying closer and more attentively in the future, we'd have less bullying if the rules already in place got enforced. Instead, the moderators are too focused on imaginary penguin demons or whatever

the current crime zone is. My suggestion, demote the mods who are only mod for the crime zone. I'd rather not call them out on this post but we all know who they are. There are plenty of qualified users who I believe would make better

mods than a majority of the current/inactive staff because these past few days are evidence that the administrator's evaluations did nothing. Dice, Jilly, Dancebear, Fizza, Skippy, Jake, Mike, would all make better mods than a majority of this weak staff

team. Some other things I've noticed with the staff team, certain mods (won't name names) ban too often. Banning should always be a last resort, back in the day it was a verbal warning, 3 kicks, then a ban. Now, I just see certain mods ban like 12 users a day lol.

Also, inactivity is a problem. A lot of mods struggle to clock in more than 4 hours a week and considering the worlds pretty much on lockdown we should be seeing more active mods, half the time I'm on there's no moderator present.

Just know this bullying could've been prevented with a stronger staff team.

I don't understand why people have moderator because they have another role. It should be for people who MODERATE, not because they're royalty or have some other job.

Because if them staff members get removed, there is room for more MODERATING people. And the others can keep they're role

Now that there's quarantine, at least 4 hours a week is reasonable. Some mods have online school, unlike me, so I think those mods can be online for at least 30 mins a day if they wake up at around 8 - 11 AM. It's not fair to compare my time to other moderators because my school wasn't prepared for this.

I won't deny your point here, but it seems like some of your thoughts aren't valid. Indeed some mods are inactive, but being a Moderator isn't only about being active in-game.
The word "simp" was banned due to its meaning (if you think it's just a male that overvalues females, you're wrong) and because of its use by some players. Personally, I believe that the slang is also quite sexist. Anyways, some users felt offended and they have all the right to feel so, thus, the word is banned.
On banning, you're saying the opposite of what the Administrators told us. The Administrators have told us to pay more attention and that we shouldn't be afraid of banning an user if the situation requires such punishment. Also, as far as I observe, some of the Moderators are very lenient when it comes to punishing their friends when they break rules. I don't believe we "ban too often", actually, there are only a few BOS users. Even if we ban users too often, I strongly believe we are doing the right thing.

Also, it seems to me that you're almost teaching the Staff how to do its job. I truly appreciate your feedback, Ian, however it is evident that your post is full of criticism but it lacks objetive suggestions. You suggest to demote some mods but you don't say who specifically. You say we should moderate bullying more closely, but you don't say how to do it, and you didn't even mention that Moderators have to observe an entire room and pay attention to many users simultaneously, it is evidently difficult to moderate something closely if you have to pay attention to everything else. As I see this, you have only made vague suggestions.

Despite lacking objetive practical measures to be taken. I still understand your position, Ian. I will do my best to improve myself as a Moderator on OldCP, thank you for you sincere feedback.

I suggest you to look for the real meaning behind that word. I think I told you it already on discord mod chat, so you know what it means.

If I'm going to be honest, I didn't even know what the word simp meant and if I saw people using it I wouldn't do anything. In my opinion, it's a word that was not enforced upon too quickly and now a lot of people use it so might as well just let it keep going. Might I also add that enforcing things is hard when you don't have that many people to help you period. OldCP is becoming way more active due to quarantine and having 1 Moderator moderate a room full of around 30 people can be difficult. I feel this is difficult for the newer staff because most of them have never had the rank Moderator in such an active environment so they don't know how to watch a bunch of people properly. Also, I guess trying to do 10 things at once would be overwhelming for anybody. The quarantine has really shown me who will come online and do stuff and who won't and the turnout is kinda sad to me I'm gonna admit. I just came back to Moderator this month so I hope I'm doing well but I will admit it can be a bit hard when some people are on a different page or when there just isn't a lot of help period; it almost feels a little discouraging. I hope that we do something like a GOM or vacancies again to look for more staff, and demote people who just don't do anything period. I enjoyed the fact that we had Moderator Appraisals but I feel as though they should have been kept a secret. Of course you're going to act good when you're being watched. The reactions to the scenarios would have been so much more genuine.

It probably got banned because of its usage ingame. People were being really annoying with it, apparently, some people killed a user over it then came to me for a revive, but I have no way to get in contact with the user to see what happened. Then you have people making simp execution zones, it's just more trouble than it's worth to be a word allowed ingame. I don't know if people actually got offended by it, but it just became a word used to justify murder. I can see why it was banned.

This post is mainly fax. The mods who only do cz make me mad cuz instead of actually monitoring the game they are obsessed with " imaginary demons". But I agree with banning the word simp, only because the only people that use the word are the annoying people that roleplay and do cz so if this ban will make them shutup more than im more than here for it. ALSO I AGREE #FIZZA4MOD period. Love the post!

Its not activity most of the mods are pretty active after school was canceled b/c of corona so currently atm that isnt an issue. It's simply just the mods being obsessed with cz to the point were they forget why they are mod in the first place I think the mod who is good at balancing both is Loki, but others like SG are literally ONLY there for cz. Cpbiter is a great mod who does his job along with Hamil, Joseph, Rouge. That is only 5 mods out of all the staff that we have and that's not okay.
