Hey, so recently, trolls have been coming on everyday and being very inappropriate (setting their /nick to racial slurs, harassing users, making jokes about sensitive topics.)

The usernames this troll uses are all combined with I's and L's so it makes it very hard to ban them, and when they do come in to /popular, they leave very quickly, and us mods aren't able to get their player card.

Solution:

There are many things that can be done about this, but one idea suggested by Tom really caught my eye.

Allow moderators to copy usernames from /allusers

Also, these slurs should be picked up by OldCP's filter system, I'm not really sure why they aren't.

I can speak on behalf of almost all of the staff that coming on to solely deal with these trolls has not been fun. There is a simple solution to this problem.

I could not agree more with this post. I can share from experience that it has been a bit of a struggle staying up till two in the morning and having to investigate the usernames letter by letter by manually typing it out. I think this would be a very useful feature to include in the game. Personally, I would really appreciate it if this was implemented.

yh i agree i remember when users with I’s and L’s or mixed letters/keyboard smashed usernsmes used to troll all the time and i could never get their playercard in time since they say a slur and leave immediately. ?

Trollers quickly log off so they won't show up on /allusers, but if you manage to see them on /allusers, it would be very helpful to be able to copy the username and successfully punish. Overall, wonderful suggestion!

this is acc a good idea

the only sad part is that the trolls come online for 0.00001 seconds and log off to annoy every mod. I don't think there's much that can be done about that really cuz going into cinema and finding their name and banning just fuels them and makes them wanna do more

it just becomes a waste of time and it becomes useless to even ban them at that point cuz they'll keep doin it with a VPN

but ye for the trolls with those weird names who don't do that this would be good

wonderful suggestion. i couldn’t agree more. i wish this was in the game previously when i dealt with trolls in previous years.
