Today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day! It occurs every year on September 19. The holiday was founded in 1995 by John Baur and Mark Summers in Albany, Oregon when they were playing a racquetball game together and they began insulting each other in pirate speak. The holiday ended up on September 19th because it was Mark Summers' ex-wife's birthday and it was a date he could easily remember.
