The forums has increasingly been easier to navigate and find information easier, and what I am about to suggest will continue this gradual progression.
Before I continue, however, I would like to point out that by making this suggestion, it would imply that I did not find the tool readily available. If the tool does exist, please notify me.
Viewing someone's posts is incredibly useful for finding information regarding that specific person. For example, if I were to leave "Damen's Games" for a while, I would be able to click on Damen and view his posts in order to see what the most recent official news is. If I were to miss out on more personal information that maybe a news reporter or a friend may post, I could click their name and view their posts instead of taking up their time by asking through mail.
What I said above is an important influence on my suggestion: We should be able to view a person's discussions. This does not mean I am suggesting to see the discussion that a user has posted on for every post they make. Instead, I am suggesting that we should be able to differentiate between a user's post and a user's created discussion.
To get a better understanding of what I am getting at, I will use Damen as an example. If you were in the same circumstance described earlier when you were absent from Damen's Games for a while and you need to see what has happened, you would want to view Damen's posts. However, Damen is a busy man and responds to many discussions/posts daily. Some of the posts he makes can be useful, but the real goal is to see any important announcements he has made through his discussions. You can never really know what is a post and what is a discussion unless you click the title of the discussion they posted on or by judging what the post is yourself. On both of these occasions, it becomes a very tedious task.
The idea sounds good, but how exactly can we put it into effect? There are many possible solutions to this problem. One is to color code them so that you can find the difference. Another option is to simply label them "Discussion" or "Post", possibly even shortening it to "D" or "P". Many more options are possible, but these are just to list a few.
Please comment if you feel that there are alternate choices instead of this idea.
That's all.
