uh.. why's this on a Forum about Oldcp?
No offense but this is politics which have no real place.. on OLDCP as has been stated.

its not harming anyone to be informed. the forums has never been strictly about oldcp. in order to create change we need to talk about the things that make us uncomfortable.
if posting about oldcp is more important to you than whats going on in the real world that YOURE going to grow up in, idk what to say to you dawg.

before i start, please feel free to correct me if any of this information is wrong.
theres a lot of things going on in the world right now adding on to the pandemic. and i think you should all take time out of your day to read about the things going on around us.
we have a privilege of using social media like Instagram, snapchat, discord - even the forums. given this privilege, its our job to use it to reveal the injustice going on in society.
i want to take advantage of the fact individuals from all over the world are on forums, even though our community is small.
here are just some of the things going on.
1. The Death of George Floyd
-on may 25th george floyd was murdered by minneapolis police officers
-a grocery clerk called the police on him because they believed he was writing a 'bad cheque'
-officers derek chauvin and tou thao held george floyd on the street with their knees on his neck
-he lost consciousness and despite this, the officers CONTINUED to strangle him.
-the officers said his death was a medical problem
-a video was released showing what really happened
-all officers present were fired from the police department
-derek chauvin faces 3rd degree murder and 2nd degree manslaughter
from orbay: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/664224655933964298/716822102732308480/who-is-Derek-Chauvin.png
whats being done about this?
-protests. peaceful protests, violent protests.
-peaceful protestors are being attacked by cops (twitter has multiple videos, none of which have been included in news articles)
-violent protestors do exist and the media is focusing on that, but there have been peaceful protests. not all protestors are violent.
what can you do to help?
-be aware and spread awareness. repost the posts you see on instagram. talk about it with your friends. read about it.
-go to justiceforbigfloyd.com and sign the petition
-text 'Floyd' to 55156
The Death of Breonna Taylor
-a 26 year old EMT named breonna taylor was killed by police officers
-on march 13th in louisville, a sergeant and two officers entered breonna taylors home with a 'warrant'
-the officers did NOT knock. the officers said they were executing a search warrant for a drug dealer. however, the drug dealer did not live at breonnas home.
-the person they were searching for was also reportedly already arrested
-assuming it was a break in due to the lack of a knock, breonnas boyfriend fired a shot
-the police fired 20 shots. 8 of which hit and KILLED breonna taylor.
-the officers werent wearing body cameras
-walker (breonna taylors boyfriend) is a licensed and registered gun owner
-sgt. jonathan mattingly, brett hankinson & myles cosgrove were present
read more about it here
whats being done about this?
-protests
what can you do to help
-again, become aware and spread awareness
-sign the petition
The Death of Regis Korchinski-Paquet
-korchinski-paquets mother called the police and asked them to take her daughter to CAMH because she was feeling distressed from an argument
-she told the officers she had to use the bathroom and the police allowed it
-her brother witnessed multiple officers following behind her
-her brother was not allowed to enter
-the family heard korchinski-paquet crying for help
-after a moment of silence, police confirmed she was dead
-her family members believe the toronto police officers present pushed her off the balcony
-the ontario special investigation unit said she fell from the balcony
-what happened is still unclear
whats being done about this?
-a peaceful protest occurred at high park
-they walked and gathered for a vigil
---> read more about the protest here
a note about protests:
- the media also forgets to mention that there are undercover police officers taking the time out of their day to burn down businesses and make the protestors look bad, it's been discovered that a police officer was the one that started the riots in minneapolis
i thought really hard about what to say and ive come to this:
im thankful ive been raised in a home where my parents taught me to be accepting of whoever i meet. sadly, thats not the case for many other people in the world.
we should not have to live in a world where people feel unsafe because of the colour of their skin. we should not have to live in a world where the colour of your skin is what you fear. we should not have to live in a world where black mothers need to worry about when their son or daughter will have to deal with police brutality. we should not have to live in a world where the colour of someone's skin is seen as a weapon.
it is unacceptable and something needs to be done about it. racism has been part of the criminal justice system for a long, long time. not only is it PART of the system, you could say its practically built on it at this point. there is a deep-rooted systemic oppression in our institutions, our education, our court of law, our businesses, our healthcare, our politics, our families; its everywhere. black folk and people of colour have always been at a disadvantage when it came to the criminal justice system and it was never made to favor them. how many more black people have to die at the hands of someone in a blue uniform for us to acknowledge this is more than just police brutality, but murder fueled by racism, shadeism and privilege? being silent is only going to worsen the problem. there are absolutely NO excuses to remain quiet - the injustice black people are experiencing in broad daylight is visible and should be something all of you use your voice to speak about.
please do your part. share the posts even if you've seen a million of them. send the petition to your friends. start a conversation.
you have a choice to be quiet or to speak up. and if you choose to remain quiet; the next time you speak with a black friend, please remember their people were experiencing oppression and you were quiet about it. and the next time you say the n word, please remember you were quiet at the wrong time.

so being able to be a knight and a mod would give someone a chance to be able to be apart of crimezone while also being able to moderate the game, help new users, etc.
tl;dr: knights have the same access to cz as regular users and mods (except the fighting) so why would a mod need to be knight + mod?
mods are mod to moderate. they should be focused on that. if theyre worried about cz and fighting, they arent focused on moderating which is why detective-mods arent allowed and likewise for mod and knight. knight is a starter rank too so it makes no sense for someone to be mod and knight at the same time. also, cz isnt closed off anymore - mods can still be sleuths in the co chat so every user is fully updated with cz. its no different from being a knight because knights ALSO are only sleuths in the co chat. knight has nothing to do with cz, but simply more so to do with the fighting which once again shouldnt be a mods concern.
